My son paints everyday now. I love this easel. It has everything he needs. I love how the paper is easy to tear off.

We are big fans of Melissa and Doug products and figured we couldn't go wrong with this easel, which we purchased for our younger daughter's third birthday. To say that it was a hit is an understatement! First, the easel is extremely sturdy and was easy to put together, and it is also easy to fold up for storage. I love the fact that it is height-adjustable, which means that this easel will grow with our daughter. The chalk tray and paint tray have plenty of room to hold chalk, erasers, white board markers, paint, and paintbrushes, along with whatever little trinkets might get thrown in there. The best part about this easel is the fact that not only does our three year old love it, but so does her older sister, and using the easel is something that they can do together without fighting--priceless! This easel is sure to be a hit for years to come.

I bought this for my son's 3-rd birthday, and he loves it so much! It was easy to assamble, we can do a lot of projects together, and now we started to draw shapes, and try to write his first letters, which is fun, creativity, and educationally valuble toy! So far we use it almost everyday, and I found it so great use so far. I prefer my son to paint or write, and learn something new: instead of playing useless video games.

I bought this for my kids who were 4 and 6 at the time. I've tried to take it apart and put it away, but they play with it almost daily.

It was easy to assemble and amazingly, we still have all the parts. My daughter still loves to use it to play teacher (she is now 8) and it is extremely sturdy.

The easel is wonderful for art. The two generous trays hold plenty of paint, whiteboard pens and little toys. The roll of paper comes up through the center of the easel and is easy to use, esp. since the easel comes with four clips to clip paper to the top of the easel.

You will love this item and your kids will use it for years to come!

We got this easel as a present from my sister to our two year old daughter. It is the best gift we could have gotten. It is beautiful, and it's easy to assemble. Our daughter loves it, and the height (which is adjustable) is great for her on the lowest setting. I had read negative reviews on the chalk board, but we have no complaints on it. She really enjoys painting, and spends long chunks of uninterrupted time enjoying it. I really recommend this product!

I bought this for my 5 year old daughter and she just LOVES IT. I researched the prices for this online for about a week and was amazed at the low price offered on Amazon compared to other sites. I have seen it else where for more the 2x's what I paid for it. I like the fact that it is adjustable and can be raised up higher as she grows. It is very sturdy and well made and was very easy to assemble. Great Product and Great Price

I bought this easel for my 2 and 4 year old children. It's so cute and made really well. I couldn't be happier with this product. Best of all, my kids absolutely love it and spend lots of time daily playing with it. It's for sure the best easel out there for kids. I totally recommend this easel. Make sure you order easel paper. It doesn't come with any. We ordered the accessory kit to go with it and it has a lot of fun stuff including paper.

Purchased this for my grand daughter's 3rd birthday. Assembly required. Comes well packaged. Three different heights for different ages. The lowest is perfect for a 3 year old. Very good quality. Sturdy. Will be very educational for color education, eye-hand coordination, and FUN! Has chalk board, white board, and place for paper roll for continuous painting if needed. Suggest getting the Companion Set and additional paper rolls. The kids will have a lot of fun with it!

this fell apart within a year of usage. I called the company and complained and they seemed helpful and eager to replace it but I never heard from them again when they were supposed to call me back. The screws literally fell out of this and forget about moving it from room to room, it made it worse. I liked to store it in one room and use it in another or outside. If you move it, it will start to fall apart.

 Fun for the little ones- but spendy! - Jun 01, 2010

We have only had this easel for a month, but my almost 3 year old has been using it daily. He loves the chalk board especially. When building it I ran into trouble and my hubby had to rebuild (haha). It is spendy to buy the easel paper as some have commented, but it is purely a matter of choice and look when purchasing- the kids like anything they can have fun with and this happens to have multiple uses (chalkboard, dry erase board, painting, coloring, sticker play with markers, etc). Happy coloring!

What a fantastic toy! My son's (he's 2 1/2) writing & drawing abilities and interest have really gone up after getting this - he spends so much time with it and enjoys having everything he needs right where he needs it.

We just purchased this product and ours was manufactured 10/09. After reading the reviews I was sort of nervous about the chalkboard and whiteboard. All I can say is Mellisa and Doug must have fixed those problems. Ours worked beautfully right from the start. The chalk board required no priming and there were no instructions to say to do so. Therefore, that must have been fixed. So if you are planning to buy....have no fear! Ours assembled beautifully, took less than an hour, and there were no defects :) I also want to say that I love the height. Most plastic ones were sort of small. I planned to use this for my 7 year and 3 year old. My 11 year old even said it ws at a comfortable height for him to paint on. If you are planning on getting this for a three year old..then expect to get many years out of it :)

 Worth buying at twice the price! - May 24, 2010

Can't say enough good things about this product. My wife and I bought this easel as gift for my daughter's 6th birthday. We didn't know she wanted one and we had very few ideas of what to get her just days prior. One night she happened to mention that she'd like an easel so she could "stand and do my drawings". I took to the internet and started seaching. This was the first non-plastic Fischer Price-like one I found and the price seemed right. I then went on to find several other easels at 3 to 4 times the price that didn't seem even half as nice as this one. It includes everything a little kid could want in an easel; paper to write/paint on, a dry erase board, and a chalkboard. Most of us adults grew up with chalkboards in school but this was our daughter's first experience with one. What a HIT this item has been with her. Not a day has passed since we got it where she hasn't spent time painting, drawing, or messing with the chalkboard. Along with the addition of the Melissa & Doug Easel Accessory Kit (a must have to make this a complete product) this easel is one of the best gifts we've ever bought her. She's been thru a couple rolls of paper and has turned our house into a mini art gallery. The unit is very sturdy and very well made. We purchased this art easel for my daughter's 2nd birthday. The assembly was easy and my daughter loves it. I purchased this model over the others because of the quality of the brand and the price. We are very pleased and my daughter was SO excited when she received her gift. Definitely order through Amazon.com, I looked at Target and the same product was $30 more plus shipping.

We bought this for my son's 4th birthday. Great purchase. Love the durability of the wood construction as well as the knob-like nuts for the assembly. My son loves it! I would definitely recommend this and it is of the quality I have come to expect and love of Melissa and Doug toys.

Bought the easel for my niece's 3rd birthday. The assembly was easy. After reading some reviews, I knew that I needed to prime the chalk board. I took one of the chalks and covered the entire board. Then I erased the chalk. The board was now ready to be used.

The easel has been primarily used for painting. The fact that you can adjust the height of both the chalk board and dry erase side (can be at different heights for each side) is a plus. My niece is tall and there is still room to adjust the boards as she grows.

The easel is a hit. I've heard that she wants to paint all the time. Good thing I bought extra rolls of paper. I think that this is a good creative outlet for children. I'd purchase this again.

This easel is wonderful. I wondered if it would be big enough for our grandchildren who are 5 years old and it was perfect. It is adjustable, so the easel can be adjusted as they grow taller. It seemed very sturdy. Was easy to assemble. The chalk board erased easily (I had read reviews not so positive, but that was not the case with this easel). The magic eraser side also erased easily. Our twin grandchildren loved it--one could work on each side. I would highly recommend it.

This easel is crafted very well, just what you would expect from Melissa and Doug products. I have moved this all around the house, and it is such a great quality, I think it is going to stand the test of time with little ones running about. My 2 year old absolutely loves this; I would definitely get the accessory kit, it cuts down on the messiness of the paint with the little paint cups. The rolls of paper are great too. I know there are many easels out there that might be cheaper, but the quality of this product is totally worth it! Love, love this product!!

We purchased this set three years ago. It is durable and entertaining. It spent two years inside and now resides on our patio, we are still getting use out of it and have refilled both the chalk and the paint many times, children LOVE creating artwork, great for fine motor skills, learning colors and imagination!
I highly recommend this product!

This a wonderful easel for any little artist in your life. It just takes up a little more space than I had bargained for. It appears to be durable, but I do wish that I could store it somewhere out of sight at times.

We bought this years ago for our daughter and then again for our niece. Our daughter was about 4 years old when she got this and she lived playing with it. As she was learning to read, learning to tell time and math, we would write problems for her on the board which she would then work on. She is now 8 and still gets use out of this board. We also bought the companion set which was an easy way to get everything she needed to use it from day 1. The easel has been sturdy and seems to be well put together for kids. We do find that she has gotten a little tall for it, but we might just put some extensions on it to make it stand a bit higher up, so she can continue to use it.

This was something we needed for our daycare the kids love it and with the roll of paper for painting it makes it even more entertaining. I purchased the accessories seperate, the paint cups and brushes and chalk. The chalk board can be messy but at least it has a lip below to catch all the excess. It took some figuring out to put together and it does take up some room when it is open, but it can also be closed so that helps. Overall good purchase.

I purchased this easel for my two-year-old a year ago, and it has outlasted a lot of playing! It is very sturdy. The only reason I took-off one star for durability is because my son can remove the pegs that hold the easel together (no matter how much my husband and I tighten them!). I would only recommend parents to keep an eye on their child when they play with the easel, in case they try to take it apart - like my toddler :-) Good buy.

Bought this as a present. When we opened it and put it together I couldn't believe how nice it looked. It is all wood, and the covers for the screws are all in different bright colors. The pieces of wood are also in different bright colors. It comes with two sides one with a dry marker and one with a chalk board. We tried both and they were great. It also has pins to hold anything your kid paints on it. And it has a space to put a roll of paper. It has two bins with tons of little spaces,where you can put crayons, markers, brushes, paint, etc.

It looks great, it had the best price of all the easels I saw, and my friend's two kids will use it for the longest time.

I'm going to be getting one for my son when he's old enough to reach!
