     Don't waste your money! - Apr 16, 2010

It is impossible to get the hampster moving inside this ball before the ball comes apart or the hampster tips over. The plate to attach to the hampster doesn't do a darn thing... It was just a huge waste of a lot of my money!

zhu zhu pet ball - Apr 08, 2010

this is pretty lame. zhu zhu pet is cute and fun, but the ball is pretty chintzy

     Ball doesn't work - Mar 23, 2010

I usually never write reviews, although I love to read them. I'm just so mad about this ball. My 5 year old daughter bought this with her birthday money and it doens't work. The stabilizer keeps falling off of the pet and it won't roll more than a foot with the stabilizer on (when it stays on). We are returning it to Target today.

Zhu Zhu's tilt sensor makes it IMPOSSIBLE to work at all - Mar 22, 2010

When I push the back button on the Zhu Zhu, the hamster tips over while I'm trying to put the ball cover on. As mentioned in the Zhu Zhu pet's instruction page, "if the pet is tipped over while Exploring the tilt sensor will automatically disengage the motor and put the hamster into Talk Mode."

We have another Zhu Zhu pet that does not have a tilt sensor and it works OK with the ball. Too bad the daughter that wanted the ball has the hamster with the tilt sensor.

I can't understand why there is a difference in pets, and it is not clearly labeled on the boxes.

my daughter loves it!!! - Mar 13, 2010

My daughter loves these Zhu Zhu pets. It wasn't even much more than at the store near my house that hasn't had any since xmas.

     Keeps falling apart - Mar 09, 2010

The ball keeps coming apart when I place the Zhu Zhu pet inside. Also the pet keeps getting hung up on the small plate and eventually the small plate falls out. Overall, this toy is worthless.

Good idea, but not very durable - Mar 09, 2010

This product looked like it would be fun for my daughter, but the pieces do not connect together well. The ball falls apart easily and the plastic piece that is supposed to allow the Zhu Zhu pet to move the ball does not stay on. Overall, disappointed with this product.

     Flimsy & doesn't stay together - Mar 04, 2010

I put the ball together. The little nobs that you are supposed to match up do not match up well. The nobs are not big enough and just fall off and the tabs that you bind together come undone easily. I have a lot of patience but was ready to throw this away! With some assistance on getting it to stay together, I grabbed clear tape and secured the seams with it and it seems to be staying put! It comes with a "stabilizer" to put on the hamster so he doesn't tip in the ball, and it doesn't work well at all. It just sits there and you hope it will stay put. Then you have to put the hamster in the ball, and push the button and try and get the lid on without the "stabilizer" coming off. Once he gets going, it is very cute! But if you bump it around, the hamster falls over. Other times the hamster just falls over randomly and it's useless. This was the biggest disappointment and is just made too cheaply. My 4 year old used it once and properly exclaimed, "THIS IS CRAP". Don't waste your money on the ball. Get something else.

Ball won't stay together - hamsters fall over inside - Feb 25, 2010

This is by far the worst of the Zhu-Zhu Pets accessories that we own. The ball wouldn't go together very well, even when the arrows were lined up perfectly. Once it was put together it came apart several times before we were finally able to get it to stick. We got one of the later releases that came with a "support bar" - a small plastic bib that resembles a train's cattle guard. This bit is supposed to help the hamster stay upright but it doesn't seem to help that much as our hamsters still fall over all the time.

The door to put the hamster into the ball is tricky to operate -- it looks like a real hamster ball's door but isn't nearly as easy to open or shut. Every time we used it, the ball ended up coming apart. Now we don't even bother with the door, we just assemble the ball around the hamster. But my kids have more fun with this toy by using the halves as helmets than the frustrating exercise of trying to get the hamster to run around in it.

zhu zhu ball falls apart.... - Feb 08, 2010

You can use this without the piece previous posters have mentioned, because I never even saw the piece the kids opened it so quick. It has to be put together by an adult for sure, and you will be putting it together a lot because it falls apart constantly. Annoying to get the lid on when the pet is already moving, and the zhu zhu falls over constantly. We're happy w/ our pets and w/ the car but not this ball! I think I may take a previous posters advice of supergluing the ball so it won't fall apart....

     dissatisfied - Feb 08, 2010

I purchased this ball for my granddaughter for Christmas. She has used it and it will not stay together. It keeps opening up and takes all the fun out of watching the ball go round and round.
We had to take the ends to stay shut.
I am disappointed because she really likes the zhu zhu pets and got excited watching it in the ball.

Most dissapointing Zhu Zhu accessory so far... - Feb 01, 2010

So I'm pretty easily amused by anything that's a stuffed animal or anything resembling as much. Yes, I overpaid some for my Zhu Zhu pets and accessories, but it puts a smile on my face.

Don't get my wrong, I know this is a simplistic, overpriced toy. To be fair, the various components (once prices went back to normal) are comparable to what you'd pay for a real hamster toy.

If you've read my other reviews, or Zhu Zhu reviews, you'll understand, I don't expect much. My little hamsters get "trapped" in the adventure wheel constantly (can't get back down tube) but I still can forgive it.

This adventure ball is something else though. I've tried the stabilizer every way possible, and it just is an expensive paper weight. To be fair, it says it doesn't work on carpets (p.s. carpets??? really???)...considering my Zhu Zhu pet doesn't do well on my carpet, I was hoping this would make up for it. It does not.

Many of the accessories are amusing and pleasing, this one having tried it in a variety of environments and ways, is a huge let down.

The ONE plus, is the mini ball that comes packaged with it, my hamster loves playing with it in her playhouse. But the adventure ball itself...no go...if I was completely accurate, I'd rate it 1.5 stars.

WARNING!!!! Zhu Zhu's are VERY Dangerous - Jan 31, 2010

WARNING!!!! Zhu Zhu's are VERY Dangerous. Our Daughter was playing with one and a few strands of her hair came near it. It pulled those few strands in, and a lot more .... and it would NOT stop. Luckily we caught it in time, but had to rush and hold both her hair and the still running Zhu Zhu, while cutting away her hair. THIS THINGS ARE VERY DANGEROUS AND ARE A PIECE OF CHINESE CRAP. Get rid of them!!!! If we get a chance, we will join in a lawsuit.

Lots of Hype, Even More Dissappointment - Jan 27, 2010

Just as the other reviews state - it's a piece of junk. Difficult to put together, comes apart easily. The stabilizer for the hamster falls off easily. Definitely not worth the price - not worth any price, actually. Incredily disappointed and feel like the company cut corners after hyping up these hamsters. Please buy your kiddos a different accessory...NOT this one. It was heartbreaking to have my daughter so excited, then get upset that the ball wouldn't stay together.

     So I have to ask... - Jan 24, 2010

So I have to ask, if the stabilizer falls off and a real hamster ball costs twenty dollars less, why not just get the real thing that doesn't fall apart???

zhu zhu pets adventure ball - Jan 20, 2010

bought for Christmas and was so disappointed. The ball didn't want to snap together easily but fell apart quickly. The stabilizer attachment for the hamster was about worthless as it kept falling off as well. We played with this Christmas morning briefly and not again since for the purpose it was intended. Now my daughter pretends that the ball is a hat. I'm not bothering putting it back together. don't waste your money.

     Waste of money - Jan 11, 2010

I returned our adventure ball because the attachment for the bottom of the hamster doesn't stay connected so the hamster just falls over and doesn't roll anywhere. I tried the attachment on all 4 hamsters and it didn't stick on any of them. I was glad I got all our Zhu Zhu pets from Walmart and Toys R Us and didn't pay the crazy prices on Amazon. The whole lot of accessories are very flimsy and not worth the prices on Amazon.

     Doesn't Deliver - Jan 04, 2010

We are very dissappointed with the Adventure Ball. True to its name though, it is an adventure...... trying to get the flimsy ball to stay together long enough to roll a couple of feet. At $10 this would be a rip-off. At $50 or so, the manufacturer ought to be ashamed of itself.

Not worth a penny, terrible design, piece of junk - Jan 03, 2010

We love the Zhu Zhu pets, and other accessories. But the adventure ball is a piece of junk. Does not stay together, and it is virtually impossible to put the hamster in the ball, and close the cover. After almost an hour of DH and I trying, we gave up. Terrible design, dont bother.

     Don't Waste Your Money ! - Dec 30, 2009

I had such high hopes for the Zhu Zhu Pets line of toys. While the hamsters themselves are cute and entertaining for my girls, some of the accessories are garbage and you should not waste your money on them. The Adventure Ball is the cheapest thing I have seen in a long time ~ ours came missing parts ..... like the VERY important cover that keeps the hamster inside as well as the stablizier that is supposed to keep them from turning over. This is a cheap piece of plastic that will continue to pop apart when you try to use it. If you want your Zhu Zhu pet to run around your room in a ball, do like we did ..... buy a real hamsters' ball ..... it works GREAT and will cost you far less money and save your some headaches !

     Kind of a Pain--Get the KrazyGlue Ready - Dec 29, 2009

The ball falls apart constantly and is really hard to put together. It's also hard to open, and the hamster doesn't work very well in it. It looks cute for the few minutes that it works, and that's about it.

     Very poorly made! - Dec 26, 2009

My daughter received this as a Christmas present, and I can not believe how poorly it is made! The ball comes in two pieces and will fall apart at the slightest touch. We have had to tape it together in order to use it at all. Once we fixed that problem there is the problem of the hamster falling over while inside the ball - helplessly spinning its wheels while lying on its back. It comes with a "stabilizer" (a small piece of plastic) to help keep the hamster right side up, but it does very little good. These toys will not last long. After only a day my kids have already lost interest in them because they won't work properly.

     Truly a POS. - Dec 26, 2009

We received this item as a gift for Christmas. The ball should be simple to deal with considering it's just 3 pieces of plastic. Not the case. The ball is constantly coming apart at the seam and the top through which you insert the hamster doesn't turn and come off as its supposed to. Hence, we are having to dismantle the ball at its seam to get the hamster in and out. The piece that is supposed to stabilize the hamster falls off most of the time and doesn't stabilize the hamster - it still flips over.

Having read most of the reviews on this product I can't imagine why someone would want to purchase this ball. I am not a parent who has the time or patience to fiddle with toys that don't work. The ball is going to go in the trash sooner rather than later.

     Garbage! - Dec 26, 2009

As if it weren't bad enough that this (seemingly simple) children's toy was nearly impossible for my very handy aerospace engineer husband to put together., (The snappy things that are supposed to hold it together don't fit together at all), once it is finally assembled, it doesn't work! The theory is that the little plastic stabilizer piece will keep the hamster from flipping over in the ball, but since the stabilizer doesn't snap into place on the hamster, it is excruciatingly difficult to get the stabilizer to stay on the hamster (while the hamster is off), then place the hamster in the ball, turn on the hamster, and close the lid. If you do manage to complete all the steps without the stabilizer falling off (which we ADULTS did only twice--an impossible task for a child ) it is pretty cute to see the little guy running around....for the 5 seconds it takes until the stabilizer falls off. I can't believe this is a kid's toy. Please don't buy this product. It is absolutely worthless.

Love our Zhu Zhu ball! - Dec 22, 2009

I bought this ball for my daughter for Christmas when I was lucky enough to find it at my local Meijer store back in September. After reading many negative reviews of this ball, I decided to get all of her Zhu Zhu items ready for Santas arrival and put it all together. The ball went together very easily by following the directions and stayed together. Hamsters work great in it. I have no problems with the ball at all or with the hamster stabilizer bar. Ours works great and is probably my favorite of all accessories! As it was rolling, my dog was going crazy barking at this little hamster rolling this ball all over our living room. I know my daughter will love it. I also have the fun house, starter set and all add ons and they go together very easily and stay together well if you just follow the directions when assembling. They also came apart so I could easily store it all before Santa comes. I know she will love it!
