Colorful Balls that Spin and Pop in the Air
The Busy Ball Popper is a one-piece toy that's made up of a removable ball trough, tube, and tray. When your child presses down on the big-eyed mushroom character on the Ball Popper, the balls move up the tube and pop out of the top, falling back into the tray to start the process all over again. The popper is made to withstand the rigors of your infant's play and can be easily cleaned with a damp towel. The plastic balls are large enough that you will not have to worry about them as choking hazards, but when your child is popping the balls, make sure to keep an eye out for balls as they can go off of the track occasionally. The popper also includes eight lively songs that start once you have pumped down the plunger to activate the ball-popping fan.
Keep in mind that although the Busy Ball Popper is made out of a strong, durable plastic, it is fairly heavy and should be kept on a flat surface while being played to avoid any damage to your furniture. The toy also shuts itself off after a short period of time, but it is recommended to always turn it off manually for battery conservation.
Great Sensorial, Put-and-take Work For Your Child
This ball popper is a great toy for infants gaining gross motor skills, or for toddlers who are ready to chase the balls around the house and dance to the upbeat music. It is visually appealing with its bright, colorful balls and characters, and you never know where the balls may land, making it an exciting and new adventure each time.
What's in the Box
Ball popper base, plastic ball tray and lower trough, and five plastic balls. (Batteries are not included.)

My twins' favorite toy! - Sep 02, 2010
This has been my twins' favorite toy consistently since they were 10 months old (they're now 14 months old). They love the music, and that's helped them to be interested in the cause/effect lessons it teaches. It was so fun to watch them learn how to push the button to make the music start and how to put the balls that fall out back in. Right now they're learning that only the balls that came with it work (and not their blocks or their other balls!). I love that this is a toy they can play with completely by themselves -- and that they can play with it together!
My one complaint is that there's not a volume control or a low-volume setting. It is pretty loud.
Baby's favorite! - Aug 28, 2010
This fantastic toy promotes hand/eye coordination; children love the music and never tire of playing with it.
Musical fun! - Aug 27, 2010
This it is a great product! fun for the kids! Thought the balls would cycle through better so they didn't shoot out across the room, but I guess it is good exercise and activity to collect the balls. I bought it for my son who is only 6months. Its a little above his level, should have followed the 9month guide on the side, though he does enjoy the music and watching the balls fly!
No Exaggeration - Every Child Under 6 Who Has Come To My House Has Played With This Toy!!! - Aug 26, 2010
This toy was purchased for my daughter when she was a baby and she loved it. She would sit for long periods of time and play with it. She loved watching the balls pop up when she was too little to sit (and enjoyed the music). She enjoyed playing with it when she learned to sit. Lots of great learning and playing time. Super durable and safe. My daughter has stuck her arm down the whole where the balls pop out to "get" the balls several times. Very safe. Now, my daughter is 3.5 and my son is about to turn 1. They play with this toy together. They take the balls out and play with them with and without the toy. Both enjoy the music and the "air" that blows. My daughter had a friend spend the night last weekend and the two of them (both almost 4 years old) played with this for a long time and giggled. No exaggeration - every child under the age of 6 who has come to my house has enjoyed this toy. And, lots of kids come to my house. It's a HIT! It is a MUST have. Buy it - you'll be glad you did! Buy it for any child (boy or girl) who is 3 months old or older. Great gift for baby shower or a 1st birthday - it's a gift that will be used for a long time.
SOOOOO LOUD!!! - Aug 10, 2010
This toy is fun - my little guy loves it, but it is SO LOUD! There is no volume control. I would have written a more thought-out review, but he just turned it on and I can't concentrate. hahaha I just had to let you all know right now as I'm experienced this that it is so incredibly, ridiculously loud. LOUD LOUD LOUD!! I am going nuts here!
Babies love it! - Aug 08, 2010
Bought one for my house when my granddaughter was a few months old. She's now 18 months old and still loves it. Sent one to my niece's 6 month old twins and it entertains for long periods! Every baby needs one!
VERY FUN, but wears out with lots of use. - Aug 04, 2010
My son absolutely loved this thing. Unfortunately it wore out because he loved it so much. The motor actually died. A bad thing is that it takes D batteries also, so get ready. It made me want to get D rechargables, but what else uses D batteries???? Still, he loved it so so much. I knew he would. The balls get lost pretty easy, so we put popcorn in it for fun. If there are extra balls available, i would buy those also. While it lasts, it is definately a favorite.
Must buy - Jul 30, 2010
My son loved this toy. It kept him busy for awhile and it freed up a lot of time for me to do other things. It is quite noisy but our house isn't quiet anymore anyway.
Enjoyable but loud - Jul 26, 2010
My son loves this toy but we can't wait for something to finally get stuck in it or for the batteries to wear out because it doesn't matter how loud you turn up the TV nothing can be heard over the music.
Keeps them busy but it's loud - Jul 25, 2010
My son (and his daddy) love playing with this toy. It keeps him occupied for at least 30 minutes often longer. He can play with it all alone or with groups of kids and it keeps them all moving and happy. We have the latest version (2009-2010) and it is a very loud toy. I wish it had a volume control. Sometimes we hide it in a closet so my son won't play with it. (My hubby works from home and it can be heard in his office when we are in the family room.) My son is currently 14 months old and he got it for his first b-day. If he sees it in the room that's what he wants to play with!
Wonderful toy to spark you childs imagination - Jul 25, 2010
This toy is amazing! My son is 1 year and a couple months old he loves this toy he learned how to use it almost immediately. He not only loves to play with it the way your supposed to but he also really likes to just dance to the little songs it plays he will just press the button over and over to dance to the music. He loves to watch through the clear plastic as the balls fly through the tube. I thought he would get tired of that after a while but he plays with it in many ways like putting one ball in the top track another in the bottom and other combinations or letting them shoot out onto the floor and chasing them. The toy is also very durable he has several times decided to pick it up and walk with it only to drop it pretty hard on the floor but it has remained functional and in one piece. the batteries have lasted several weeks as well (not included be sure to buy some). Again this is a great toy your child will love it!
One side note my son LOVES to play with containers like boxes and jars so he ofcourse started to put "foreign objects" into this toy like brushes combs keys small toys a spork markers crayons and then press the button to see what happens....doing this has not caused any damage to the blower fan but i do dump it out after letting him see that nothing happens. (i guess he thinks they will fly out lol) he still does this occasionally so watch for your child to do it.
Not a toy grown ups love but the little 'uns do! - Jul 17, 2010
It is loud and annoying (the music and yes, sometimes the baby as he feels the need to sing along with the tune)and it is annoying how in the early stages of play (battery life) the balls get spit out in every direction and it seems that Mom is spending all her time crawling around after balls. This, however, is delightful to baby. Eventually the batteries calm down and then the ball only pops out every once in a while - whew!
Be cautious - my 9 month old tried to see if OTHER balls would fit into the machinery - yes to go in, not so much to come out. We've killed/repurposed about 6 clothing hangers to get out the illegal/undocumented balls and duplos.
That said, our son is walking and that usually equates to the sitting toys as being "so yesterday" in his new all powerful toddler mind. But he still todders over and plops himself down in front of the toy and plays with it for quite a while.
We love it - gonna keep it, and found that if you attach a felt square over the speaker (the felt like you put on the bottom of a chair to stop scratching up floors) the loud annoying music becomes somewhat muffled annoying music. Much better.
Great toy for active toddler - Jul 15, 2010
I bought this toy as a Christmas present for my then 16 mos. old granddaughter. She loves it! When we get it out, she starts jumping and giggling until we turn it on. Then she races to get the balls that pop out. The music is a little loud but it is fun music. We like to clap along with the tunes. She loves to feed the balls back into toy too! I would recommend this toy 100%. My granddaughter turns 2 next month and still loves to play with it.
Great toy - Jul 09, 2010
My son loves this toy. He's been playing with it for a few months and it's been great to watch his progress. At first he just watched it and laughed and squealed. Then he started picking the balls up and putting them in. Now he's pushing the button and crawling all over the room to retrieve the balls and put them back in.
The only downside is that our Basset Hound also loves the balls and has destroyed a few. Fortunately, you can get an order form for replacement balls from Playskool's website.
My 2 year old loves it! - Jul 07, 2010
We just found one at a garage sale and my 2 year old daughter is fascinated with it. She loves the music, she loves to watch the balls pop, she loves to pat the balls as they pop, she chases them down when they jump off track, she puts them in her trucks and buckets, she loves the air on her face and in her hair, etc. I'm sure eventually she'll tire of it, but we've had it a couple of weeks now and she wants to play with it constantly. Keeping track of the balls is the biggest chore associated with it. It would be great if there were a way to buy replacement balls.
Fun for kids, exercise for mom - Jul 07, 2010
My 11 month old son loves loves LOVES the ball popper. It will completely occupy his thoughts for a solid 30 minutes. He started playing with it at 8 months and still loves it. He knows how to make it work and can do it on his own. The challenge? The balls fly EVERYWHERE and he doesn't go looking for them yet. So I have to sit next to the darn thing and constantly hand him the balls so he can put them back in. I get tired of this little game before he does. But his face when he watches it... priceless!
Kids will Love it, Parents... maybe not so much - Jul 01, 2010
My 1 year old son received 2 of these for his 1st birthday. We kept one and put the other at his grandparent's house. I have to say, he LOVES this thing. The button to activate is a little harder to push down than most of his other toys, but he did figure it out within a week. It's been 3 months and it's still one of his favorites. The downside, as others mentioned, is the balls go flying out.. In my house, this means we never have more than 2-3 balls in the thing at any given time, as they roll under somewhere or a cat runs off with it. I can't find all of them. I wish it didn't pop them so much that they go flying out into the room, but I do have to give them credit because it is one of my son's favorite toys.
A bit loud and startling, but good for a little older toddlers - Jul 01, 2010
I bought this for my little granddaughter at age one, and it scared her to death - it is very loud and the balls pop way up and sometimes fly across the room. So we put it away for awhile, and by 14 months, she started really enjoying it, tho we still don't like that the balls don't stay in the tray and just recycle like they should, which means retrieving them under furniture, etc. Therefore, I can't give it more than 3 stars, but it does seem to keep on going. We've gone through one set of 4 D batteries, and time to reload.
Good for several months with a 10 month old - Jun 18, 2010
Our son loved this thing. The music... you will be humming the songs to yourself if you are at all susceptible to that kind of thing. Fortunately, the songs are cheerful. The batteries last for a decent amount of time, maybe 1 month with heavy usage. And chasing the balls gives you something to do while watching the baby. Indeed, our son liked gathering the balls up himself sometimes. Having bought many other toys buy now, I'd say you will get so much bang for your buck with this thing... we didn't have to buy anything new for like 2 months.
Great toy! - Jun 13, 2010
My 1 year old loves this toy!!! It is fun, entertaining, and gives him a little exercise as well :)!!!! Great toy overall!!!
kid loves it, too loud and annoying to play with often - Jun 08, 2010
My child at about 1 was so intrigued with this toy and wanted it at the store until I finally bought it for him on his second birthday, even though it was a little young for him he played with it for a full day at Grandma's and Grandma sent it home and said "you listen to it". Indeed, I didn't think there was anything more annoying than listening to the same episode of Cailou 5 times, but yes this did indeed surpass this. We let him play with it the following day, and have it hidden away and only bring it out from time to time. Someone said it was a dangerous toy because of the loudness-I think that the real danger is that you might throw something accross the room when you just can't take it anymore. If only it had a volume button.
It's LOUD! - Jun 05, 2010
This toy absolutely frightened my 1 year-old so I promptly returned it. It's too darn loud and there is no volume adjustment.
Great Toy - Jun 02, 2010
My kids who are 2.5 and 10 months old have both loved this toy for a long time, epescially my ten month old, she loves putting the balls through the top and trying to get the ones that "float". I think this toy provides a great oppurtunity for fine motor skills
Very nice toy - our little one loves it! - May 30, 2010
Playskool makes some very good toys, and this is yet another one from them. Our 16-month old absolutely loves this toy. I agree with some of the other reviews, the sound can be a little annoying at times (volume control would definitely have helped). But what really matters is how much the child enjoys the toy - and on that parameter, I very highly recommend this toy to all parents!
fantastic! - May 24, 2010
i bought this for my daughter for christmas when she was 6 months old. at 1st i made it happen, and she watched and laughed. now she is almost a year old and she LOVES to play with this! she thinks it's funny when the balls pop out of it, or if she tips it and they shoot at her (silly girl!)
my only issue is keeping the balls near it because she loves to carry them around all the time.
oh, and the music is a little annoying, but she loves it, so i deal:)
