Maximum Firepower and Versatility
The CS-35 features a durable plastic frame, intended for intense play. It is based a classic Tommy gun design, complete with a drum magazine. This magazine can be used as an accessory with any other compatible N-Strike blasters. The CS-35 comes with an adjustable stock, which you adjust to fit the length of your arm. It also has a tactical rail, which you can equip with a variety of N-Strike accessories. With a 35-dart capacity, the CS-35 has a truly massive payload of foam. Because of this, you might expect it to be a bit cumbersome, but it is actually surprisingly mobile. The blaster is lightweight enough to sprint with, and you'll be able to blind-fire around a corner with ease. You also shouldn't have to worry about running out of darts. The CS-35 comes with 35 darts. The darts are gentle and soft, so younger kids will be able to get in on the action.
There is one downside to the huge dart capacity: each dart has to be reloaded individually, so preparing the blaster for play can take several minutes. Still, the fun you will have is well worth these moments of tedium.
Blast Your Enemies Away
The CS-35 fires reliably in battle, and is free of the jamming that often plagues Nerf guns. It uses a pneumatic pump to propel the darts, allowing you to be in control of the rate of fire. The pump allows for two blasting modes -- multiple darts at a time, or single shots. The multiple-dart mode is particularly fearsome, since it will empty all 35 darts in a matter of seconds.
What's in the Box
Nerf N-Strike Raider CS-35 blaster, drum magazine and 35 darts.

The blaster carries up to 35 darts in the drum magazine and uses a pump-action system for rapid fire. The tactical rail is compatible with most N-strike accessories and the adjustable stock delivers a comfortable fit for kids six and up. View larger. |

Great Gun - May 01, 2010
i think it is a great gun. the slam fire mode is really cool. You hold the trigger in and pump the handle back and foward. it shoots far too. i got mine 2 shoot 40 feet angled. the drum mag is great, but it makes the gun lean to one side. the only other bad thing is that sometimes the darts go 40 feet, but sometimes they only go two. it has a adjustable stock, and 2 tactical rails. the gun is so cool, the person you are shooting at will have no idea that 35 darts are about to slam into him:)

Best Nerf Gun Yet! - Apr 12, 2010
This gun is by far one of the best Nerf guns that they've put out. Even if this gun came with a regular magazine and they hadn't even thought up the drum magazine... it would still be one of the best. The drum magazine with huge dart capacity just puts this gun over the top with how awesome it is. I had a battle outside with a friend who had just bought the Nerf Longstrike sniper rifle. I was a bit worried cause of how big his gun was, but I totally OWNED him. My gun kept shooting, and shooting, and shooting, and when I thought I was out I still had like 4 shots left haha. It shoots really straight, really far, and it's really great. I have been a fan of Nerf for a while, and have modded many guns to improve their quality, and I'd have to say this is by far one of the best guns out of the box that shoot well besides the revolver Nerf Maverick.
Pros:
Drum Magazine (huge capacity!)
Pump action means you never have to take your hand off the gun to cock it, so you never lose sight when shooting an opponent.
Slam Fire mode means you hold down the trigger, and just pump the gun and it shoots really fast. Although you lose accuracy.
Retractable Stock is removable and can be put on other guns, like the Recon. Plus it looks like a real gun stock.
Comes with lots of darts!
Cons:
With the bulky drum magazine, it leans to one side when you hold it, but if you let it rest on your arm, it doesn't matter.
Didn't come with any other accessories for the railing system like a sight or anything.
Get this gun, it's one of the best Nerf guns yet.
Nerf: King of foam - Mar 15, 2010
This particular model doesn't shoot quite as far as I would like, but poor build is not to blame, safety regulations are. It holds a lot of darts and can shoot as fast as you can reset the slide. It's a lot of fun and the ideal weapon for HvZ for any who are shopping with that intention.
BEST GUN IN THE WORLD!!!!! - Feb 16, 2010
So, I got this nerf gun for christmas, and it's pretty good. a little modifications are required. Just kidding! This is the best nerf gun ever!!!!! I've been shooting my dad with it, and he's lost a couple of wars because I had the raider. Also he's won one or two battles with the raider. I like the extendable stock because it's really comfortable. If you have a fast arm then it could be faster than the vulcan! (I dont have the vulcan I tried it at my friends house) This gun is great for wars, especially with its rapid fire action. get two of these so you can have a raider war with your friends! I haven't modded it yet, probably because my recon broke when I tried to open it. so i'm too afraid to even unscrew two bolts. either way, the raider doesn't need much modding because it's the best nerf gun ever!
nice things: -If you hold the trigger and keep cocking it, it will shoot immediately every time you push the handle foward.
-in the bottom of the back handle there's a space to put an extra dart in.
-the drum can be replaced with a recon/longshot clip if you run out of ammo.
needs improvement: -Darts get lost easily
So, there are three extra features, and One bad feature. Yeah, I recommend you buy this nerf gun as soon as you get the money (Or right now)Now I have one more thing to say; Raider rocks!
Fun Toy. - Feb 10, 2010
Fun Toy. My 11 year old son salivated over this toy for months before he got it, and loves it now. Nerf never disappoints. This toy is no exception.
pretty good gun - Feb 05, 2010
I think that this gun is good overall. here are my pros and cons. pros: the drum's ammo 35 bullets.
the two mode shooting. (slam and single shot)
you can have quick shot clips in it.
cons:prone to jamming
it's not really rapid fire (you have to hold the trigger and then slam the pump back and fourth)
THE DRUM IS AWESOME! - Feb 03, 2010
The Nerf Raider CS-35 is a 3 star for me because the gun is not all that good but the drum is very good. This drum is a breakthrough in Nerf technology. It can hold 35 darts. You can see how many darts you have left. And If a bullet gets jammed (which it probably won't) you can twist the speed dial thingy and then go back to shooting. Plus it can fit into guns like the recon, the longshot, and the longstrike. Bottom line, the drum is amazing. Now for the gun itself. It probably shoots as far as the recon but not nearly as accurate and consistent. If you just have the clip in this gun don't pick it as your main gun. Bottom line, the gun is not very good at shooting but with the drum you have more of a chance of hitting the enemy cause you have more darts. I can't decide whether I would recommend this to a friend or not. But just to tell you don't get the RAIDER IF IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE DRUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not what we expected - Jan 30, 2010
My sons (11 1/2 and 8 years old) love the Nerf Dart Tag guns, so they asked for the Raider Rapid Fire Gun for Christmas. We have been so disappointed with them. The guns jam frequently, the darts get stuck and shred. We have had to throw so many darts out and they are not cheap!
not good - Jan 28, 2010
On my birthday i went and bought this gun because it looked cool since it was modeled after the Thompson Chicago Typewriter. The Raider had 2 drums and was the same price as a single gun. On my birthday i had a nerf war. It started showing some small problems. That was at the end of November. 2 months ago. Now it has these problems....
1. easy jam
2. shoots on its own
3. loads a dart but will not even make the firing noise
4. cocks on its own
I love the look and use the 2 drums in my longshot and recon. If you enter a battle with this gun, you will have 100 jams 2 shots and be out fast. If you enter with the drums you will be a serious threat to the other team. Another nice thing about the drums is if you have a stuck dart in the drum a little dial will push the dart up. My advice wait for the drums... forget the gun.
A lot of fun! - Jan 23, 2010
This is a lot of fun and the "slam-fire" is pretty ridiculous. I love watching my friends freak out as I unload on them. I also got some flip-clip (6-dart) magazines because you blow through the drum in no time. Plus, they give the gun better balance than the huge drum hanging off the side.
However, there are a few negative points to mention.
1. The magazine location is terrible for right handed users. The drums sits against the user's chest and really limits mobility. I'm left handed and don't have a problem, but righty's might want to reconsider.
2. The shots can be very inconsistent. I still can't pin down what causes some shots to flop out a few feet while others sail across the room. Very fast pumping makes it more consistent, but you still won't know where your darts are going. Fury-fire dart tag guns are definitely more accurate, but MUCH slower to reload.
3. Jamming is annoying. You have to pull the lever ALL the way back until it hits the stop or the dart will jam. The darts are marred after a jam, but still usable.
Altogether it's a lot of fun...I'm a 24 year old college student and I love this thing.
Review for awesome Nerf gun!!!!!! - Jan 21, 2010
To start off I purchased this Nerf gun with a gift card to Amazon. I read quite a few reviews on I thought it looked great. I was a little puzzled at first by the "slam-fire" mode, but upon receiving the Nerf gun in the mail I realized you use the slam fire mode by holding down the trigger and pushing the cocking handle back and forth rapidly. I would not recommend it however for kids under the age of six, for the large magzine makes it very unbalanced on left side, but taking that clip out and putting in one of the smaller six shot clips would make it much better for younger child. I highly recommend this to anybody looking to purchase a Nerf gun!
A Very Good Nerf Gun - Jan 17, 2010
The Nerf N-Strike Raider is a very good weapon when having Nerf Wars. It's very fun(for you, not the opponents)to launch a stream of bullets very rapidly. I gave education 1 star because they didn't design it to be educational; it's a plastic gun!
PROS
rapid fire
big dart drum
comes with 35 bullets
CONS
big drum takes a REALLY long time to reload
slam fire mode may be hard for children (under 10)
Overall, a very well made gun and a great addition to my arsenal. Well worth your money.
Definitely the one to get! - Jan 15, 2010
This is the best Nerf gun yet. The beauty is in the simplicity. It is lightweight, easy to use, and can fire more darts than any other Nerf gun (except the Vulcan). Having 35 darts in your barrel is a total blast! Beats all the other ones with 6 dart cartridges. The range is not all that great but it is by far the most fun of all the Nerf guns.
Great toy - Jan 12, 2010
This is a fun Nerf Gun. It works great and my 8 year old can handle it and reload it by himself.
My son love it - Jan 09, 2010
this is a great toy with great services.. it arrived in a timely manner.. thanks
nerf gun - Jan 08, 2010
My son loves it and plays with the neighbors. It gets him outside, playing and being active
LOVE IT! - Jan 08, 2010
My 6 year old loved this gun! It works so much better than most nerf guns
Very Fun and Durable! - Jan 05, 2010
We bought this nerf gun for our 4 year old nephew for Christmas this year and it was a big hit. Although the gun is pretty big he was still able to hold and shoot the gun just fine and we all loved how you had 35 darts to shoot before running out of ammo. Its a bit hard though to pop out the dart chamber attachment and he needed help every time to get it in and out. The piece of the gun that you pump to reload/fire must be in the correct position for the attachment to come off and reattach smoothly. This gun was used heavily for over a week by four young children (and fun-loving adults!) and did not show any signs of wear or tear yet and we expect it will stand up quite well based on the performance of other nerf items we've bought over the years. We're actually planning on getting one for ourselves to have around for when our nephews come to visit.
Warning - Jan 04, 2010
These guns are fun but there is something you have to be aware of if you want to avoid a very serious jam.
There is really nothing to prevent the cartridge or magazine from being inserted upside down (i.e. with the darts facing the wrong way). It is very easy for a younger child to make this mistake, but anyone could the same thing if they were not careful. Once one of these backwards-facing darts is loaded it will cause a jam that is extremely difficult to free.
My son's two uncles both independently gave him one of these guns for Christmas (two different models). Both of the guns have been jammed and in both cases it was due to the cartridge being inserted backwards. The ease with which this can happen is a design error in my opinion. In one case an uncle was able to free a jam by shredding a dart. In another case I had to entirely disassemble a gun to free the jam.
(Although I am happy to report that the gun was well-built enough to be as good as new after re-assembly, I don't recommend this process to anyone as it was extremely complex and time consuming and the gun is not really meant to be disassembled.)
Great toy but product decription was misleading - Jan 02, 2010
I purchased this toy specifically because the Amazon.com product description said
"The CS-35 comes with 100 darts, including 65 clip-system darts."
It does not come with the 65 clip system darts.Just the 35 darts and their drum magazine.
None the less my son loves the toy, my older son does not as he is the
target of the fired darts.
But it gets them out of the house and running around.
a total piece of junk - Jan 01, 2010
This was the only thing my son asked santa for this year. It broke the VERY first time we used it. It just completely fell apart. I put it back together, and it fell a-part again. It ruined a good part of our christmas morning and I am completely pissed off about it.
Nerf Dart Blaster - Jan 01, 2010
My son received this Nerf gun for Christmas this year and was very excited about it. His two brothers are extremely jealous.
awsome!!!!!!!!! - Dec 30, 2009
This is the best nerf gun ever.
It has a huge mag
Great speed when firing
Good design
Over all totally awsome GUN!!!!!
Good addition to the N-Strike line - Dec 30, 2009
Lives up to product description. Relatively simple appearance and foregrip cocking are an improvement over previous offerings. Drum magazine works and is compatible with other N-Strike blasters which use a magazine [often erroneously called a "clip"]. Shooting performance is mediocre and inconsistent but can no doubt be improved. My daughter loves the rapid fire made possible by the cocking mechanism.
