Incredible and easy to fly - Aug 30, 2010
Oh man... this little helicopter is so easy to fly and the price is incredible. I only wish I could recharge it in less than 1 minute and be able to fly it for 8 hours...
I will buy another one to give as a gift.
Very Durable - Aug 29, 2010
This chopper has no gyro so you must be on top of it with your trim controls. Very light weight your a/c blowing air into the room can blow it off course! Due to extreme light weight and the smaller blades this thing is dang near indestructible. Very durable. Very fun. The only thing that might break off is the little misses on the wings i super glued mine on after a few crashes and out of the choppers I've owned this thing is the most durable one I've had. The blades don't even have a mark on them very tough machine!
helicopter for a gift - Aug 25, 2010
toy was a gift for a grandson. I was real excited about it, but the helicopter never charged up and the instructions were confusing. I thought this would be a replacement for a cheaper helo bought for a christmas present, that failed. but this model never made it into the air. I used to work in aviation and wanted the gift to be something where I could teach my grandson about aviation/technology and I would later get him one he could take apart and maybe build with my help. very disappointed.
Pretty cheap - Aug 20, 2010
This is ok as a first heli I suppose. But now that the gyros are out this is a pretty archaic heli now. You will have to constantly trim it to keep it from spinning. Do yourself a favor and buy a Syma 107. Try to the s-107 from toys&games not xheli. Toys&games is a great shop to purchase those from through amazon.
Nice looking but doesn't work - Aug 19, 2010
The chopper is nice looking and probably can last several blast into the wall or straight down on the concrete ground since it's made mostly with soft plastic. However, it would be great if it actually flies. I bought two of these, packages arrived non-damaged, choppers charged as instructed, turned on, one flapped and spun on the floor, and the other one blinking LEDs in silence. Had to explain to the kids that these choppers didn't work, and watched them sobbing in disappointment. Overall, don't waste your money. If I bought only one and it didn't work, ok, my poor luck. If I bought two different models from the same company and neither worked, poor quality.
a good helicopter - Aug 10, 2010
it is a great little helicopter. it is a little hard to control at first but once you get the hang of it, it's really fun. it's also quite durable too. but the only bad thing is that you have to charge it for 30 minutes and it only lasts for 6-10 minutes before you have to charge it again. but overall it's a great helicopter and I would recommend it to anyone.
Fun, but glitched. ((At least mine was) - Aug 09, 2010
I bought one of these helicopters a couple weeks ago, and within a week, the motor/engine/something wasn't working as was supposed to. Even on a full battery, the helicopter hovered about an inch off the ground, sometimes lower, and even hitting the ground every few seconds. I understand it does that when the energy in the helicopter is about to run dry, but when it was just fully charged? It is very durable, surviving without a problem on an encounter with almost any obstacle.
excellent value, addictive fun! - Aug 01, 2010
when I ordered this helicopter I had doubts about the quality because of the low price compared to air hogs havoc heli's. I was highly suprised when it arrived.
It has a very detailed body made of thin but sturdy plastic. Very nice graphics. The charge time is a little long but I could recharge it many times before charging the rechargables I used in the controller. I read some complaints about flight time. Secret: when it runs out of juice, hold it in your hand and run it until the motor completely stops. This fully discharges it's battery. I get about 10 minutes of flight when I do this and then charge it.
The trim is a little touchy but once it is trimmed it will hover rock steady. The one thing this has that havocs don't........forward and backward one extra function that works very well. It is a lot of fun to fly. Another advantage is I can fly it outside (no breeze though) without losing the signal. Very impressive!
The flashing light on the front is cool too.
Forget the havoc heli, this one is a far better heli for a much lower price. I give it 2 thumbs up!
novel fun - Jul 25, 2010
not only is this helicopter fun to fly but it presents an opportunity to build skill in flying remote control helicopters. It permits experimentation without destruction. It's great when you discover successful flight techniques.
Fun and Surprisingly Tough - Jul 24, 2010
I've bought 3 or 4 radio helicopters a year since 2007. These SYMA helicopters (I also have the S013 Blackhawk) are hands down the best I've used. The vertical flight controls are so good I could fly it with almost no practice. The other controls take more practice, but they're fun to work on. And I must have crashed it 15 times in the first hour with no damage. To be honest, these are the first helicopters to work after the first day, including some I paid 3x as much for.
difficult to control - Jul 18, 2010
Ordered it two weeks ago and Amazon shipped it within a week. Can't beat the price. However, it seems to be very difficult to control; it likes to fly side way and hit the walls a lot. The trim only helps a little bit. If you have never played with a RC helicopter before, this is probably not for you. You should spend extra money to get a nicer one.
rudder trim absolutely useless - Jul 12, 2010
i trim the rudder after takeoff while hovering. but as soon as i use the throttle it's all gone, copter rotates again. impossible to fly. it goes where it wants to go. tuff design. still works after many crash landings from high altitude.
Great little toy - Jul 09, 2010
Good things: Flies very stable, hovers great due to co-axial design, excellent for beginners. Crash resistant, way stronger than my Walkera 4#3A I have.
Bad things: small battery: only 85 mAh therefore flight time is around 4 minutes.Takes about 25 minutes to charge.
Also, you need to trim it every time you fly and also during flight when you change the throttle settings.
But for the money, I am very pleased. Haven't flown it outside yet, but I think it's going to be fine as long as you stay away from the sun. Evenings are perfect for backyard hovering...oh and no wind or very light wind.
I'm flying it while waiting for my epoxy to cure.
A lot of fun for little money.
Great!..for the first ten flights. - Jul 05, 2010
Broke this little bad boy out of the package Tuesday and had a great time learning to buzz it around the house that first day. Had a few rough landings but was never bad enough to break anything off the heli. Wake up Wednesday morning and get in two flights (both times landing the heli successfully back in the palm of my hand) before the helicopter starts to act erratically and increasingly worse with every flight after. Where I was having a smooth flight (if a bit hesitant from my lack of skill) I was now fighting to keep the heli in a stable hover. Now the model is completely uncontrollable and spins to the left no matter how much I adjust the Left/Right spin knob on the controller. I was able to get a full refund from Amazon and I'm thinking about trying one of the other Syma helicopter models. Personally, I loved this little thing and every brief moment I had to fly it and would love to have another or one similar.
Great value for the money - Jul 01, 2010
Don't expect the world and you won't be disappointed. I wasn't expecting much, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised. This is the least expensive multi-channel proportional control helicopter I've seen, and it's a lot of fun. The instructions are gibberish; at first we thought it wouldn't charge, and it took us a while to figure out that you had to plug in the charge cable with the power "off" then switch the controller "on" to charge. And it is definitely a toy; it's almost impossible to trim precisely, so it's almost impossible to steer it with any degree of accuracy. Still, it flies incredibly high outside (on a completely windless day!) and it hovers nicely indoors. With a lot of practice, you can actually fly it fairly accurately some of the time, even to the point of landing it on a dime (or on someone's outstretched hand!) It's so small and light that I expected it to break almost immediately, yet two weeks later, it's still in one piece and still going strong. The small size actually seems to help in this regard as it doesn't hit the ground with a lot of force even when literally falling from the sky (and our flights end in a crash way more often than they do in a smooth landing.) Definitely worth far more than the few dollars it costs as a fun toy or as an introduction to remote controlled helicopters.
Not Good - Jun 29, 2010
This Heli flew 5 mabey 8 times then it just wont stay in the air I have 2 each of the syma military line and this one was no good at all Blance bar flat not round like all other models just gaabage.
Great RC Helicopter for Beginners - Jun 22, 2010
I initially bought this toy as part of an interest for these kind of RC flying toys. I wanted something that was easy to fly, fun, and durable; I got exactly what I wanted, at the right price too! This toy is amazing and is great for indoor fun when you wanted. Despite the long charging time and slightly short battery life, this is a wonderful toy.
Solid Fun Helicoptor for the Price - Jun 22, 2010
This is a great little heli. The only drawback is the touchy trim control. You have to get the spin of this thing just right. Once you do lookout! Comming through! I made the stupid mistake on the second day of having it, taking this thing outside. Not recomended! As soon as I started it up the thing took off up into the sky. I was like a kid loosing his helium balloon. The controller had no affect and I wached as it flew up at least 300 feet or so. It was a little dot in the sky. However what must go up must go down. It came sprialing down. I was expecting the worse. Luckly on it's way down it clipped the rooftop of our apartment and then crash landed. I think the roof slowed its decent. One of the little missles on the side broke and that's it. I just snapped off the missles on the other side. It even flys better now. The trim may be hard to get adjusted right but this thing is tough. I also bought the Syma S107 from Amazon. This thing will eliminate any trim fustrations you have. Fly's without any adjustment. But if your looking for durability especialy for the young ones then this is the one you'll enjoy. The best 7 minutes you'll spend until it's recharged again.New Syma 3 Channel S107 Mini Indoor Co-Axial Metal Body Frame & Built-in Gyroscope RC Remote Controlled Helicopter
Great toy for a good price - Jun 13, 2010
I bought this as a gift for my 9 year old grandson. It seems to work better than others that he has had due to a different design. This ended up being a big hit as a gift from grandpa and he is able to accurately fly and land it repeatedly. It also seems to hold a charge better than similar products that we have purchased in the past.
A Blast to Fly. - Apr 15, 2010
I've tried a few others in the "indoor RC" category, but they just skipped on the floor & hit the wall. This one lifts up nicely, and is easy to get under control. There's a learning curve, and performance will depend on the amount of power in the charge. I agree with other people it's about 6-8 min. of flight time, and does seem durable. Reading the manual is a quest to understand due to how poorly it's written. For the cost- Can't beat it! It will go into a tailspin quite easy though, but mine has had several crashes with no damage.
a bad product! - Mar 19, 2010
this dosent last more then a min fully charged i think it might have been used or i just got a bad one!
hard to control, can't adjust - Mar 16, 2010
copter spins uncontrollably in one direction. when i adjust the trim, it for some reason reduces the power to the throttle so the it cannot lift. also, the trim is affected by the throttle level. throttle up and it spins one direction. throttle down and it still spins but not as fast. i'm disappointed. i don't expect this to be easy to control, but i at least need to be able to turn in each direction.
heli seems durable for what it is.
Excellent first helicopter. - Mar 11, 2010
This helicopter is fantastic. It has a unique wing design which allows the wings the pivot and flex upon impacts, vastly reducing the chance of breaking them. After a week of lots of flying, the wings on mine have not broken! It certainly is NOT easy to fly at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's a blast. I'm able to fly it in circles around in my dorm room with minimal issues and an occasional crash. Seemingly out of nowhere, though, the copter flies way out of balance. It just sort of flies in circles now, on its own. I'm investigating it and trying to figure it out, but I'm not sure what the issue is. The wings are in perfect shape...perhaps I knocked a gear out of line or something. Who knows.
In the end, though, it's a great first-time helicopter. Hopefully I can get it fixed so I can have more fun with it!
Not too bad for the price - Mar 08, 2010
Overall it's not a bad deal for under 30 bucks. It's pretty easy to maneuver once you can get the trim right. Only drawback is the short battery life. I wish it would fly a little longer. I haven't timed it, but it is shorter than the other two I have.
great product - Mar 04, 2010
WOW i love it. The delivery was faster than i expected it came in 3 days...I put batteries right away and off it went....it flies perfectly....the only bad thing is that the directions do not make sense other than that i would recommend this product and i will be buying another one
