     Good fun - Jul 14, 2010

A bit easier than scrabble but still very challenging, and when you play with kids it's very educational. It works even if you're bilingual and you can turn the "w" into another character. It's a fast game and fun.

     family entertainment - Jul 12, 2010

I got this for my kids as a stocking stuffer. We are big Scrabble fans. Unfortunately, the rules of the game are unclear and we just made them up as we went along. Besides, how many more 4 letter words can think of??!! We have'nt played since Chritmas.

     Deserves a four letter word. - Jul 09, 2010

I'm not sure why this game has received so many good reviews. It doesn't really fit into any niche. Serious Scrabble players will hate this game. And for people who instead want a quick and very fun game, there are so, so many better options.

Instead, I would recommend games such as No Thanks!, Coloretto, For Sale, Slide 5, Bohnanza, Lost Cities, etc. All of these games are available online here at Amazon, but you won't see them in your local Wal-Mart.

Give some real games a try.

A very fun game with flimsy cards - Jun 29, 2010

I like the concept of the game and so did my friends (after a couple of rounds). We found the game to be a manic free-for-all, which was a welcome change from other games that require strategy or that are turn-based. My biggest complaint about the game is that the cards are not really built to withstand the abuse they get from being slammed down. Our cards, after just a few uses, are already showing wear and tear.

     Not impressed - Jun 21, 2010

I love playing Scrabble and when the new SLAM came out I immediately purchased it. You can only play with 4 cards to spell 4 letter words, the dire3ctions are confusing, and overall not nearly as much fun as I thought it should be. This game would be great for young kids learning to spell but for adult entertainment on Card Night, I'll pass

my favorite card game - May 25, 2010

I just got this game today on sale at target for $4 & i really like it!! I had to beg my husband to play with me but he ended up really liking it! im glad i got it kind of the same idea as speed where you rush to play all your cards first

Fun, plus works well as flash cards for toddlers - May 18, 2010

My family got this game as a present, and we've enjoyed it ever since. My husband is really into word games and my children (ages 7 and 5) had fun playing this with him. My seven year old can play the real game. My five year old just changes the first letter to make rhyming words. With the kids playing, the pace is slower, but it is still fun to watch the words change. We usually play until all the cards are down. After my husband and I finish our pile, we try and help the kids finish theirs. The goal becomes getting all the cards down.

I also use these as flashcards for my three year old. There are no Xs or Qs, but there is a good distribution of the more common letters. There are enough of each letter that we can use them to spell simple words, play go fish, or play memory.

Great takeoff on a major game title - May 10, 2010

This is fun, educational when needed, and a great way to play a game of scrabble without having to think of words no one uses. Quickly play your cards to make a different word out of the 4 currently played...i.e., you have P L A Y as the 4 cards and you play an N to change it to P L A N or a T to change it to P L A T. Lots of laughter, lots of fun, lots of arguing that P L A V and P L A M aren't words! Ha! Get rid of your cards first. You are the best.

     4 is a lucky number, I guess - May 04, 2010

This is a fun game. It's just like regular Scrabble, except that there's always 4 cards down. The cards must always form a legitimate 4 letter word. Players can change the word by putting cards on top of the original 4 cards. The game ends when someone runs out of cards. I still think regular Scrabble is better, but this is pretty good!

Fun! Smart! Great for Travel! - May 02, 2010

The whole family likes this game! We play it on airplanes, in the car, or just sitting at the kitchen table. It's a twist on the original scrabble where you make as many four letter words as you can (not that kind!). The smaller words allow the entire family to compete on even playing field from age 7 to 45. My little one loves that he can sometimes beat his 17 year old brother depending on the hand he receives. It's a great way to pass time on airplanes and on road trips. You can even have kids play it alone to see if they can get through all the cards. Great idea!!!

Too Easy - Buy the original Scrabble - Apr 21, 2010

I bought this game along with the Monopoly card game. Whereas we love the Monopoly card game in that you can play a quick Monopoly-like game in 20 minutes or so when you don't have time for the whole game, this Scrabble card game was mind-numbing. Way way too easy with no excitement. You are limited to 4-letter words and too many choices for letters. We found ourselves using the same words over and over even though our entire family is pretty well-versed in the English language and enjoy Scrabble when we have time. Pass on this game. There are way better card games out there for the same or less money. This one sits on our shelf collecting dust.

     Great at a small party - Apr 14, 2010

The most ideal playing setting is with 4-5 people which is generally the size of groups I hang out with. It's a great buy!

Amazingly fun and fast! - Apr 11, 2010

This game is great! We love it. It's just a deck of cards, so there aren't a lot of pieces to keep up with. The game goes quickly so you can play one or several and still haven't lost all day playing it. Plus, two people can play it and have as much fun as six people playing it. It is so worth it!

     Boring Boring Boring - Apr 10, 2010

Don't Waste your money, this is the worst game I have ever played. I bought this for my three grandchildren who are 12, 9, 8, They were bored with this after the firt game. The company should be ashamed to even sell such JUNK. Absolutly not a Fun Game.

Great fun and educational - Apr 10, 2010

I purchased this for use in classrooms. Students of all ages like this game and yet it is a great literacy tool

     great - Mar 28, 2010

purchased to originally use to help grandson with abc's
will continue to use for phonics and then a regular game of scrable.

     Wow, what a blast! - Mar 10, 2010

We're huge Scrabble fans, but get frustrated with how long a game can take. But, Scrabble Slam is a wonderful alternative. We're fast-thinkers and love that we can set a quick pace and challenge each other to come up with words, or take our time going for the more esoteric words. This is a pure blast for everyone!

     great word game - Mar 07, 2010

This can be played on any level (any size base word), with any number of players (just leave out cards so that everyone has the same quantity. And the players don't need to have the same educational level for it to be fun and educational.

     Great Card Game - Mar 04, 2010

This is an easy game to learn. You have to be on your toes as everyone is trying to make a new word. It's a fast paced game and your adrenaline really gets going. Every age can play which makes it fun for the whole family.

     Fun for a while - Feb 17, 2010

I like playing this game but I only want to play it for about 15 minutes before it gets boring. However, it can be a great addition to any home that enjoys word games just to mix it up a bit. Overall, I'm glad we have it.

     game - Feb 11, 2010

This is a fun game that can be enjoyed by youngsters with older family playing along. It is pretty easy and small to travel with. It is also available for less at Walmart storews

     Scrabble - Feb 10, 2010

This was given as a Christmas present and we don't know how well it went over, but it seems to be a great little card game for scrabble lovers.

     Scrabble SLAM Cards - Feb 08, 2010

A variation of Scrabble with cards instead of tiles. A young man recipient wrote in his thank you note that it was a nice surprise and fun to play.

     Dumb, Dumb, Dumb - Feb 07, 2010

You would do better just using your poker deck to play war. What a dumb concept- have everyone try to slam down letter cards over an existing word to beat out another person's attempt. All it does is cause friction between the kids and raise the level of activity to frenetic. If I could have left the stars out completely,I would have, but you have to give it something, you can't leave it blank. It sullies the name of Scrabble. What a waste of money.

     Fun! - Feb 06, 2010

I played this with my nephews and they love it a fun game. I actually been trying to get this for a while and I have it now.
