U.P Fun - Aug 18, 2010
This product was amazing! Went on a river trip in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan and the tube was tons of fun.The built in cooler was a perfect place to store everything we needed for the trip. Not to mention the cooler stayed completely dry so our phones and cameras were safe!
Great Tube - Aug 18, 2010
I've been looking for a long time for a tube but wanted one that would be sturdy enough. I saw this one in use and asked where they got it . . Amazon. I purchased it and a week later we took it out on a river that had lots of rocks. I was afraid the mesh on the bottom would rip but it survived without one rip or tear. I was impressed with its comfort and durability. I do wish it would have come with a paddle (which we purchased separately and turns out we needed in different situations). Love the headrests, very comfy. The cup holders only hold cans, not bottles. We used the "cooler" in the middle to store all of our stuff which was super handy.
Great float- used twice and still going - Aug 16, 2010
We used this float twice now on the River and it worked awesome. Plenty of room, stayed full of air and center ice chest is roomy enough for a few drinks or storage. I did tear the raft the first day, but patched it up and it still holds air great! Perfect Raft for a Reghatta for 2 adults, or just chillin in the water for Anyone
This was awesome - Aug 15, 2010
We completely enjoyed it, We are boaters and everyone loved it, Very comfortable, lots of room-cooler is great for storing drinks or even just for phone, lotions, shoes, towels, snacks etc. Had fun laying in the sun just enjoying the day on the water. We will buying a couple of the single ones next year and tie them off with each other and enjoy the day on the water! Would recommend any to purchase one. Very durable and have a couple of friends that are going to purchase them
Great Fun for River Floating!!! - Aug 09, 2010
This product was great for the river. I purchased it after my first trip to New Braunfels as it seemed to be the product of choice for many. I used it last weekend with my eight year old son. Very roomy and the cooler is sizable. Two bags of ice a six pack of soda/or beer and several mini waters. I like that it has bottoms in each tube and the rope around the perimiter to tie other people together. Great product, but make sure you blow it up really well to get optimum capacity and best use.
great for the lake - Aug 04, 2010
Bought this to use on the lake as a float toy for the kids.. Its been very durable .. pleased with this purchase!
It lasted 5 minutes. - Aug 02, 2010
I was so excited to try this thing. Back when I bought it, during the winter, it was only $27. DO NOT pay $50 for this. We filled it up and it looked great. We had to carry it down a small embankment. On the way down it brushed up against a tree. No branches just bark. That's all it took. It did not just pop a hole in the thing it TORE the crap out of it. So we used the patch that came with it and about half a roll of duct tape to seal it up so we could go with our friends on a float. That seemed to work. So we put one bag of ice in the cooler part, 6 bottles of beer, and five bottles of water. That was a waste. The ice melted within minutes but it remained cold enough I guess. The cooler was more in the way than anything. Sort of a gimmick. To be honest a cooler inside another tube would have worked much better. The cup holders are in the wrong place. Your drink will spill because your body weight pulls the cup holders in. There are nets that keep you in the tube which you would think sounds good but in real life is horrible. Sometimes you need to get out of the tube to dip in the water or whatever, but the nets keep you from being able to get into the tube again in water that is well over your head. You have to wrestle back into it. Try wrestling back into a tube that has a cooler built in and another person on it. Our patch held but we found the tube was leaking elsewhere along the seam. When we got back to the camp we thew this thing in the bon fire. It was garbage. We used Intex's other product the River Rat the next day with much better success.
I so wanted this thing to work because it looks so cool but in real life it does not work. To heavy, fragile, bulky, and design flaws. You are better off with just a River Rat and a cooler. We found we could put the cooler in the River Rat by making a net with rope. The River Rats are only $6 at Wal Mart too. Much better deal, trust me.
Fun on the lake - Jul 27, 2010
We ordered this to pull and float behind a pontoon at a very slow speed. Every 4th of July we go to the lake and there is a boat parade and then everybody anchors and swims and floats around. It was comfortable. You need alot of ice for the cooler if its hot. This was perfect for what we wanted to do. Loved it! Ordered it a week before the 4th and didn't pay extra for faster shipping and got it in plenty of time.
Great for river tubing. - Jul 24, 2010
I bought and used this tube on the river and it was the best tube I have ever used. I even bounced off of a lot of sharp trees and rocks and it never got a hole. The only problem I have with it is the cooler in the middle only had a small piece of Velcro to hold on the lid. The lid kept blowing open but I think that I could fix it with a stronger piece of velcro. It was really nice having the cooler right beside me so that I could get to my drinks easily. I would recommend this float to any body wanting to float down the river. It is strong and durable.
Ruggedly Perfect!! - Jul 24, 2010
Ordered this to take onto the Frio River. It was wonderful! Yeah, it was big and we had to adjust our position to fit through some turns/drops but you have to do that anyway if you tie on to other tubers. People we would pass would say things like "Wow, that's like the Cadillac of tubes". We did not use the cooler for cold drinks but instead used it for snacks, sunscreen, and anything else we wanted to keep dry. We still bagged everything just in case but it worked wonderfully. The lid of the cooler velcros down so it really didn't let in a lot of water or anything. The tubes are roomy and VERY comfortably fit my hubby and 5 yr old on one side and me and our 2 yr old in the other. We had questioned the safety of taking the 2 yr old but the Frio was VERY tame and the float was perfect(of course both children STILL wore their puddle jumpers/life vests). I would definately recommend this float!
Good Raft - Jul 20, 2010
This raft was really a good time. We got it to float down a river with friends and it worked well. Be careful on shallow rivers though. We were worried that some of the rocks and sticks that were in the shallow parts of the river would puncher the raft. The cooler is really large we fit a lot in there wine bottle, case of beer, ice. Me and My husband have a combined weight of 450 lbs so this raft will hold a lot of weight. The biggest downside is that it is hard to steer it in a narrow river, much better on wider rivers where you don't have to care about maneuvering so much. But overall a good time :)
What's with the price increase???? - Jul 15, 2010
I bought this same tube from Amazon earlier this summer, it was $27. It has steadily increased since then. Now it's double the price!!!!!! As far as the tube itself goes, the thing is pretty awesome. Cooler lid could be a bit better, and I didn't like the back rest but for $27 it was well worth it..I wouldn't pay $54
Not the most durable - Jul 13, 2010
Great price and got it quick. Had fun with it just playing around. Cooler holds a lot, but doesn't work very well which isn't a major concern. The entire tube other than the head rests is one chamber. Very large sitting area and comfortable to sit in. We had 5 of these in a river and 2 popped rather quickly (we took a chance and it back-fired on us). The patch that comes with it works great, but is not very large. If you are in a river with a lot of branches and trees I would recommend you get a more durable tube (or go with the single tube as it is easier to control). I searched for covers, but could not find any. Worth the money, just be careful where you use it.
Double the fun with double the tube! - Jul 09, 2010
We've used this tube a couple times & really liked it. It's made well & the cooler is a good size. The mesh in the bottom of the tube is great so you don't lose things...my kids took their water shoes off & kept them in the bottom until they wanted them again. Overall I think this is a nice product & great price.
Love it! - Jul 06, 2010
We spend many hours floating in our lake in the River Run II. It is very comfortable! We love it!
Great item - Jul 05, 2010
Great item to float the river with. Built in cooler is a grreat thing to put beverage in or store items
Awesome Float! - Jul 04, 2010
We bought 3 of these tubes and went down the Salt River outside of Phoenix in 110 degree heat. These tubes are everything that I expected...and MORE! They are extermely comfortable and durable, the coolers are perfect, and once you've floated the river on this tube, you will never rent the crappy black tubes again! For the cost of tube rental, these pay for themselves after just one use. The backrest is awesome, and the mesh bottom keereading the reviewsps you from falling thru. They have loops all around the sides and a rope that comes with the tube, which is perfect for tying several together for a large group. I bought these after reading the reviews, and was so pleased with my decision.
You will LOVE this tube!
Fun in the Sun! - Jul 01, 2010
I am an experienced "Hooch Shooter". I have floated the Chattahoochie River thru Atlanta over 20 times. Each year I buy a new raft to replace my worn one. This year I bought this float cause I wanted to float with my boyfriend and a cooler to hold our drinks. This tube is PERFECT!!!!!!! Very durable. I'm pretty certain that I won't have to buy another one of these next year. :) Only have two pieces of advise. 1) Buy an air pump. Your lungs are probably not the best option for this or any float really. It's worth the money. 2) This seems like way too much money for this float. I paid $[...] bucks for mine only a few weeks ago. Shop around.
River Run II - Durable and Comfortable! - Jun 07, 2010
My husband and I purchased this float for a river trip last weekend. The river was full of reeds and logs and even huge, thorny bushes and this float wasn't even phased. My husband is 200 lbs and I am 120 and it held our weight with no problems. The cooler is large and effecient, we held 6 cans of beer and 8 bottles of wine coolers plus a small bag of ice no problem, we could have put more in it if we needed too. All of our friends were having a hell of a time getting comfortable on their rafts, or even staying in them and we never had any of those problems. Definitely worth the money!
this was a great buy! - Jun 06, 2010
I uaually prefer a bigger float for my river tubing but didn't want to deal with the stress of transporting a larger raft for my Ginnie Springs tubing trip this year. I had a great time with this raft, easy to inflate and we were not gentle with it either, it held it's own for the full week we went camping/tubing. Best part was I spent less than $30 for it on Amazon and they sold the exact same raft at Ginnie for almost $60! I look forward to using it next year! GO AMAZON!
Durable and great! - Nov 24, 2009
Held up well over the rocks on the Guadalupe River and was a lot of fun to use. The cooler was very useful for keeping drinks in (as well as snacks), and the area where we sat in was spacious and comfortable.
Best Amazon Purchase By Far!!! - Sep 18, 2009
This raft was the best thing i ever bought! I have taken it to the river for camping many times. It is so sturdy (made of out of what seems to be comparable to a tarp)!!!!! The cooler is huge! You can fit a whole case plus ice (for people having trouble keeping the ice from melting, use ice cream salt). The tube is soooo comfy. You can sit Indian style on the mesh. Back rests make so a very comfortable ride. It is a bit heavy so you need two people to carry it once blown up (especially if you decide to but drinks and ice in it be4 walking to river entrance). I was the envy of the entire river!! Everyone wanted one or wanted to ride in it. The only problem is trying to keep people out of it!! Best purchase by far.
Welcome to the Executive Suite of river tubes! - Sep 11, 2009
First off let me say... I LOVE THIS TUBE!!! I've had this tube about a month and have taken it tubing on the Comal River twice, and out on several lakes in north Texas. It's very roomy, lightweight and durable. It withstood an entire day of tubing in scorching, 95+ degree Texas heat. Since it's white, it doesn't absorb as much heat as your standard black, rental tubes (so no arm rash or burns).
Secondly, this tube is tough...it took the bumps and bruises (and tube chutes) along the way with no problem and no leaks. But I have to say the cooler is what sets this tube apart from the rest. Some folks use it for storage, we used it for "tasty beverages". It can hold 12-pk of canned drinks plus ice, it also has a drain plug in the bottom.
The tube inflates very easily (the back rests and cooler lid are pinch valves, while the main chamber has a boston valve). Also, the mesh bottom is a life saver. It keeps you from falling through the center of this tube and allows you to dip into the water enough to keep you cool. To give you a better idea of how roomy this tube is...I'm 5'7" and can easily and comfortably sit Indian style plus I can extend my arm fully and still not touch the person next to me!
We were asked repeatedly "where did you get your tube?"
Trust me...you want this tube...it's definately a great investment for all river (and lake) rats!
Float on my friends!
MOST COMFORTABLE EVER! - Aug 31, 2009
I have NEVER took the time to write a review! But the whole 16 mile float down river was so comfortable, easy, and fun with no headaches from this tube! My husband is 62" 190 pds and he had NO PROBLEM getting comfortable on his side. The ice chest is great! Held 6 cans 3 waters ICE and sunblock! The rope made it so easy to tie to everyone else. We scraped over 2 rocks and NOTHING happened! Friends that spent well over $200 on their float's all mentioned how comfortable ours was (we were hopping from tube to tube (great time thanks to this durable tube) BEST BUY WHILE WORTH THE MONEY! (I would pay more, now that I've tested it)
Awesome floatie! - Aug 26, 2009
My girlfriend and I love this floatie. It's nice and big, really comfy with either the headrests or the cooler to rest the head on, and it's made with heavy material that inspires confidence on a long river trip. On our last trip we hit gravel bottom a few times scraping both the tube and the mesh under your [...], and both held up just fine. The fit on the cooler's lid isn't the best, but it held our two bags of ice and about 16+ drinks and kept them nice and cold (ice was pretty much melted by the end) for our 4-1/2 hour trip. Would definetly buy again, but I'm sure this one will last for many seasons.
