Love this set! - Jul 24, 2010
This is one of the most high quality durable toys I've seen in a while! They don't make things the way they used to, but this toy/brand is the exception.
I love that it is made from recycled material too.
My kids, ages 1,4 and 5, all love to play with it.
Great!! - Jul 23, 2010
This is a cute and durable little tea set! My daughter loves it! I love that it's made from recycled materials. You'd never think by its quality that it's a recycled toy! Love it!
Great little tea set - Jul 20, 2010
I especially love the use of recycled materials. The kids love the set, the lids fit nicely and there are no rough edges on any of the little dishes.
Good quality - Jul 17, 2010
I got this set for my two girls, ages 3 and 1. I like it, they like it, and it is a high quality little set. I love the fact that it is made with recycled plastic, but you would never know by looking at it.
Tea time fun for all - Jul 03, 2010
I bought this tea set for my 16 month old daughter after her aunt gave her a porcelain tea set, which she's too young to use. First, this product came in very easy to open packaging all of which was recycled. Second, the parts are not so small that I'm worried that she would swallow any of them. Third, as the material is food grade she has served herself and eaten a few cookies off of the plates. And finally, she loves this tea set. We've had it a couple of months now and she still plays with it daily. I highly recommend this tea set.
Great set, but leaks - Jun 24, 2010
I ordered this for Christmas for my three year old daughter. She loves the set, and we still use it on occasion. I heat the water up in the microwave, and then I add it to the pot with a tea bag, and in a few minutes we enjoy a cup of real tea. My only problem with the set is that after only two batches of tea, it began to leak at the top of the pot (not where the lid attaches, but about an inch lower.) If you look closely at the pot, you will see it is not a single piece, but has the top attached (not the lid), kind of like it snaps on. At the place where the top attaches to the tea pot, it leaks when you pour the tea. Other than the leak, it is a nice set and washes up easily.
One of the best for little people, but still has some kinks... - Jun 20, 2010
I was happy to find a plastic tea set that was sturdy and safe to drink from, this fits the bill but there are still some issues with the test.
Pros-
-Hard plastic, your kid can sit on this or throw it and I don't think it's going to break
-Reasonably priced
-Fun, my kids really love it
Cons-
-The teapot does leak around the seam. Fortunately with our set it was just a couple drops, but if you're filling it will REAL tea and using it on a white table cloth for a tea party that could be a big problem.
-The colors are kind of drab, the pink reminds me of the color of those hospital pitcher/ bed pan sets. It's a dull, almost mauve pink.
not functional - Jun 17, 2010
This toy was on my daughter's wish list for several years. It was on back order and selling for over the retail price. When we finally got it as a gift, we were so disappointed! The genius that designed it, put a screw through the spout, making the teapot non-functional, water pours out all over the table. We have this pretty teac set that has sat in the cabinet since Christmas and it is the end of June.
Wonderful toy for a little girl (or boy)! - Jun 15, 2010
My little girl is just in love with this toy! When she opened it (on her 3rd birthday) she had no interest in opening anything else. It's bpa and phalate free, and safe for food and dishwasher safe. And it recycles, which we're adament about in our house. Very very pleased.
Cons: if you fill the teapot above the seam line, it will leak out. And leaks very slowly as it passes that same seam as you pour things out. So stick with water or be prepared for a mess.
tea set - Jun 07, 2010
Great, durable tea set. Love that is made from recycled material and is safe for my kids.
At last! Toys made in the USA. - Jun 06, 2010
Last Christmas I made the promise that I would be only purchasing items made in the USA for presents. This tea set caught my eye & I was really impressed. Very high quality, does not crack like other plastic toys. Our little ones have had hours & hours of fun with this set & even though the dog got hold of a piece he only put teeth marks in it so still usable. Other plastic products would have been destroyed instantly. You will not be disappointed with this.
sturdy tea set - May 25, 2010
i think this tea set is indestructible. the plastic is very very hard. my kids throw the cups everywhere and eat snack out of them. they also use the spoons sometimes to eat with. i got this for them at christmas when they got a kitchen - it is a little early for them to know what a tea set is, but they will grow into this. i'm sure my daughter (who turned 1 at christmas) will one day love love love this tea set. they haven't yet lost any of the parts, thank goodness.
i've handwashed all of it (several times) and it has held up well. i'm glad i picked this tea set rather than one of the metal ones or the thin plastic ones. ceramic is out of the question at this point! :)
Good Tea Set - May 23, 2010
I bought this tea set for my daughter, who is now almost 16 months. She is rough with it and it is holding up well. The pieces are a good size. She can easily hold the cup in one hand and the spoon in the other and stir. She loves taking the lid on and off the teapot and sugar bowl (which are interchangeable to make things easier). Like some of the other reviewers, it would be nice if the creamer was a different size or color from the teacups. Also, I would rather the teapot be one piece of plastic (except the lid), than be held together with screws.
I like the idea of recycling milk jugs into something safe and useful. Perhaps a carrying case for the tea set would be good too.
Leaks! Ugh! - May 14, 2010
This is a wonderful teaset, except, the teapot leaks. You pour it and it dribbles down the front and ends up in a puddle under the teapot no matter what you do. I was so excited to get a "green" set and we've used it a couple of times but we have to put a towel under it to be able to play. It's a shame. It's a very cute complete set.
Great Birthday Gift - May 10, 2010
Happy with the quality and the speed in which the gift arrived. The birthday girl (age 2) seems to be well pleased with it as well.
Nearly unbreakable tea time! - May 05, 2010
We got this tea set for my two year old daughter. She absolutely loves it. Durable, washable, realistic, and loads of fun. I highly recommend this tea set, especially for younger children! The plastic is heavy duty, and it would probably take a hammer to break it. We had another tea set previously and one of the cups broke when stepped on, creating sharp plastic shards. I can't imagine these ever breaking. Very good quality. If you want a tea set to play with, this is for you!
Brand new and extremely durable. - Apr 23, 2010
This toy was advertised extremely well. I got the toy quickly and it was still in the box ready to be wrapped for a party. The materials are extremely durable, so I suspect we'll be having tea parties at our house for years to come.
pretty good. pretty and good - Apr 19, 2010
The only reasons I cannot give all 5 stars for this toy:
-The top does not stay on when she pours. (I had to alter it. Easily done, but I shouldn't have had to add anything)
-The creamer container is too similar in color, size and shape to the tea cups
This is otherwise a great little set. The recycled material was a big selling point for me. Also, I like that it is so lightweight (as opposed to porcelain sets) so we can toss it in a bag to have tea at the park (no clinking).
a pleasant birthday surprise - Apr 19, 2010
I got this set Green Toys Tea Set for my granddaughter, who is a gregarious but only child. She is three. She immediately sized up
the situation (mainly because she could open the box herself) and started playing with it. She hasn't lost interest
after a month now, either.
I liked it because of the colors, classic shapes, durability factor and the fact it is made from recycled
materials.
This is a great toy.
Green Toys Tea Set - Apr 13, 2010
This tea set is puuuuurfect for toddlers, durable, great for little hands, very cute and wonderful for imaginations! My daughter wants to play "tea party" everyday and we couldn't be happier with this tea set! WE LOVE IT!
I can't believe how much my kids like this set!! - Mar 27, 2010
We gave this to our four year old for her birthday about 10 days ago and our three little girls (4 years and 2 year old twins) have played with it at least once every day since. They absolutely love it! This has amazed me since they lose interest with most toys pretty quickly. I am also really happy to know that it is BPA and Phtalate-free so I can fill it with warm tea without worry, though they are just as happy to have it filled with plain water. It is the pouring and sipping that they love. And we had a problem with the tea pot leaking water out of the hole under the spout, which was making a mess every time it was poured, but I contacted the company via e-mail and they sent me a replacement pot that day. Excellent customer service! This is a great, inexpensive toy that I highly recommend!
Awesome tea set! - Mar 26, 2010
Love this tea set! It is made of REALLY durable plastic that is washable (always a plus with small children). I was looking for something that didn't have a character attached to it or any extra bells and whistles, a basic plastic tea set-this is just perfect! The fact that it is also made of recycled items is a bonus! My daughter enjoys playing with this tea set soooo much! I could not recommend this particular tea set enough.
In addition, the shipping was really quick-so happy with this item!
Excellent Food-Safe Tea Set - Mar 20, 2010
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. I haven't found it to leak (as reported by one or two reviewers) and I don't find the lids hard to pick up. I do love that it's food and dishwasher safe, so I can give her actual herbal tea bags and then put the set in the dishwasher when it gets dirty. So far it's given her hours of enjoyment and me hours of free time!!
Great Tea Set - Mar 17, 2010
I was looking for a tea set for my two year old, and I was so happy to find this one. I bought it because I wanted something safe, durable, and cute. I do wish it has a tray with it to put the plates, cups, and teapot on, but I went ahead and bought it due to the fact that it was made of recycled products. She does love it, and it has given her something to do pretend play with. I love the cute pastel colors too.
Cute and fun - Mar 16, 2010
I bought this tea set for my niece and at first it was a big hit, but then it lost it's appeal. She is only two, maybe we'll have to wait until she's a little older. I like the colors and it seems very well made.
