     Great Group Game - Jun 28, 2010

I am the queen of board games. I have played most of them out there. Our family loves to play games, and we are always looking for great group games that all ages can enjoy. I played the kids version of apples to apples for the first time at work with jr. high kids. It was so much fun. I decided to order both the adult and junior version to have at home. This is a very popular choice for a group game in our family. It's more popular than scatagories which was our favorite before I brought this game to a family game night. All ages can partipate, and we have fun with both this version and the junior version depending on who we are playing with. If you can read the words you can play. We get so many laughs from apples to apples.

     Fun party game - May 19, 2010

Apples to Apples makes a great party game. It is simple to explain/learn the rules, and each "round" is quick and doesn't require much concentration/thinking. Plus, guests can sit out a round or two while they use the bathroom, fix up a new plate of food, take a call on their cells, etc., without everyone needing to delay or them getting too far behind. It tends to lead to some good-natured teasing and trash-talking, and isn't so involved you can't have side conversations as well while playing. I've played it three times now with all different size groups of people (4-10 ppl) and it's been a hit each time.

     A to A - May 12, 2010

Its a great game that is popular with any age. Great for big parties and is educational if one bothers to read the cards' descriptions. Would recommend it for everyone.

     Wonderful Game! - Apr 29, 2010

We've had this since Christmas, and it's my DD10's favorite! She's learning synonyms and having fun at the same time. It's also become a favorite at our church for parties, etc.

Perfect game for any group!! - Apr 27, 2010

Every time I pull out Apples to Apples, the skeptical group turns out LOVING it! Perfect game!!! Good to keep tissues handy for when everyone inevitably laughs to the point of tears!! :)

     LOVE IT! - Apr 26, 2010

So, I'm in my 20s and obsessed with this game. My friends and I play at dinner parties and get such a kick out of it. In fact, we sometimes play, then go out on the town, and end up back at someone's apartment just so we can keep playing. Really fun.

     Quick Delivery - Great Game - Apr 19, 2010

We sent Apples to Apples (great game that all ages can play together) as a thank you to good friends after our family visited them for a weekend. The game was delivered faster than expected.

Apples to Apples for ages 10-99, great game. - Apr 09, 2010

Enjoyed this game with some younger folks and then with some seniors. All enjoyed playing it, and planned a time to play again!

     It's okay - Apr 04, 2010

I didn't think this game was quite as good as I expected from the reviews. It can be fun, but it kind of depends who you are playing with I guess. It's fun, but not as fun as Taboo or Balderdash.

     Family Game Nights - Mar 27, 2010

This game is so fun I love to play it all the time. Everytime I play there is always a couple good laughs! It does get loud at times though, but I think that's the reason I like it so much. You always need an open mind and creative thoughts playing this game because it challenges you to think out side of the box. This game is good for kids 7-15 and is great for all parties and family game nights!

It used to be fun - Mar 10, 2010

I have played Apples to Apples many times, and each time I play it, it gets less and less fun. The game was hilarious the first time I played with friends, and it was rather fun to play several times afterward as well. It is also a good ice-breaker game. However, it seems like at every party or when friends would come over, we would play Apples to Apples. I think that since the game is simplistic, it runs out of fun rather quickly, even with the variations. The fun part of playing is coming up with ironic noun/adjective combinations, but after a while it gets old to be matching Helen Keller with "insert adjective here". Some of the card parings are really funny, but after playing the game for a while, you see similar combinations, and they become less funny/amusing/entertaining.

I think that it's fun when you are picking the nouns for your adjective card, but even then it gets old. The rest of the time, you are hoping that you don't end up with boring nouns and no one picks your card.

I guess if you like games that require no thought and are extremely repetitive, or you are only planning to play this game once every couple of parties/etc, then I guess you'll like Apples to Apples.

     VERY FUN - Feb 19, 2010

This is a truly great game. You need a larger group to play, and it is really a lot of fun.

     Apples to Apples - Feb 12, 2010

My mom got us this game for Christmas and I LOVE it!! We had to sorta cull through the cards though. If we get it for someone as a gift we will get the Jr. verson. The bible verson is to hard.

     Fun for ages 8 to 88. - Feb 11, 2010

Someone brought Apples to Apples to a Hallowe'en party in 2009. The group of people who hardly knew each other, aged 18 to 80, became quickly acquainted and was laughing together for at least 2 hours.

I instantly knew what I wanted to give as Christmas gifts. And I didn't forget to buy one for myself.

Easy to play, and lots of laugh. All you need is a wild imagination.

     Fun Family Game - Feb 07, 2010

My kids had played the game often before at their friend's house and we have found it to be a fun family game and good family time spent together

     my favorite game! - Feb 01, 2010

my sister wanted this for christmas, and since i wasn't going home i let amazon do the wrapping and sending. i (26) love this game and play it all the time, now my little sis (16) loves it and plays it all the time, too. we even sometimes get together with mom (56) and play it and actually have fun. the rules are loose, there's not really a winner, and it is the best for parties where you've invited a good number of people who don't know each other so well because you have to talk and always end up laughing. i would; however, go with apples to apples junior for anyone under 12 - not for bad content or anything, just because the topics in adult apples to apple might be boring or beyond what they've learned in school yet (there are a few historic references).

Family game night just got funner! - Jan 30, 2010

I have a large game playing family and Apples to Apples is a huge hit. Everyone from 5 to 80 has a great time playing and the answers are quite funny. I would recommend this game as a great ice breaker for parties. Too much fun!

Perfect for family game nights! - Jan 28, 2010

Apples to Apples is anything but "just another game"; it's a new game every time. The possibilities are truly endless in this game. The game comes with hundreds of green and red cards. In a standard game, players each begin with 7 cards and each player takes turn being the "judge", as they call it. The judge plays a green card, and players play cards that match the green card as closely as possible. The judge then selects which card he/she feels best matches the green card. Apart from the totally random and hilarious cards involving people, places, history, animals, etc, there are even cards that begin with the word "my", which truly makes the game personal because these cards make the judge rule completely on experience alone. As I said earlier, the game isn't always the same because you can pretty much make up your own rules (the game actually points out a few other ways you can play). You can deal green cards, rather than red cards, to the players and have the judge pick the best green card rather than vice versa or you can play opposites where players try to come up with the exact opposite of any green card. This has to be one of the greatest family/social games ever. Hours of fun and hilarity for everyone!

     Fun for Everyone - Jan 23, 2010

    Apples to Apples / B00112CHCK

"Apples to Apples" is one of those rare games that is fun for any group of people, regardless of their usual gaming preferences. It's the sort of game that's perfect for parties and family reunions because it will appeal just as much to your hard-core, Carcassonne-playing, European-game-loving gamer as it will to the person who avoids everything other than solitaire.

The other beauty in "Apples to Apples" is that it can be explained so quickly - literally, it never takes more than two or three rounds for everyone in the room to catch on to what they are doing. When we bring the game out, in fact, we don't even bother with the explanations - we just pass out the cards, and tell everyone to throw down a card for the first round - by the end of the "judging", everyone has caught on completely.

I highly recommend "Apples to Apples" as great fun for the whole family. It's even educational - it's rare to play a game where someone doesn't learn a fun new word. The only down-side is that this is definitely a "group" game - you'll want at least four people for this, and the more the better.

     Apples to Apples - Jan 18, 2010

Great game! Easy to play and lots of fun for all ages. Play it one time and you're hooked. Can't wait to have people over to play again!

     Great for groups -- especially non-gamers - Jan 15, 2010

So many other reviews do a great job of describing and evaluating the game that I just wanted to throw in one particular concern of mine -- the reason that I rate this 4 instead of 5 stars. While this is a fun game for groups and a good way to include everybody in a game (all ages and interests can generally play together -- for young kids, maybe 7 or under, I'd recommend the junior version), my biggest frustration is just replayability for myself. I like thinking games, strategy games, and (in general) games that don't rely on haphazard luck for success. This game borders on that. Don't get me wrong -- it's still lots of fun and the fact that it's not terribly intense allows me to play with my wife, kids, and parents -- but I can only play for so long before I'm ready for a challenge.

I guess another way of describing this game is that it's fun of the 'vanilla' variety.

That said, I should mention that my 10-year-old would play all day long if he could find people interested. So consider who it's for.

     geat game & fun game - Jan 11, 2010

Apples to Apples is hours of fun for everyone involved. If you like to laugh and like word or card games this is for you! It is easy to learn, play, and everyone has a good time. One of the best games ever!

Everyone likes this one! - Jan 11, 2010

This game is so much fun for the whole family! We have a 10 yr old and a 13 yr old and they both enjoy this game very much. You catch on quickly and is a wonderful word game to have around!

     Apples to Apples = Fun! - Jan 07, 2010

I've seen this game everywhere & was always curious about it. I read the directions online & it honestly sounded boring! Until this past weekend, a friend brought the game over. We played with 4 people and it was fun & we played with 8 people & it was more fun!!! You can be creative & silly & of course when you're drinking it can get pretty funny! People were getting competitive & it was a really good time. The rules are very easy to learn. I think kids could find it boring, but it depends on what kind of games they like.

     Apples to Apples - Jan 07, 2010

Apples to Apples is great for parties or for just the family. It's fun for people of all ages too. Although the box has a recommended age for the game, I play with my 9 year old brothers sometimes and they have just as much fun as my friends and I do. The party box comes with so many cards that you can keep your games going for hours. It also comes with blank cards on which you can write your own nouns, which can add a nice personalized touch to the game.
