Baby loves it! - Jul 29, 2010
This is one of the first toys our baby really interacted with. He loves hearing the songs and watching the lights blink in rhythm with the music! We're just now teaching him to press the buttons himself. I highly recommend it!
Good little toy - Jul 26, 2010
Good, simple toy. It makes a little music, and my daughter likes it pretty well.
Baby Crack - Jul 24, 2010
I know it may be an inappropriate thing to call the toy, but we gave the toy the nickname "baby crack" because of how quickly it calms and entrances our son. A must have!
My sons really loves this! - Jul 19, 2010
We saw this in another mother's hands while waiting for a Dr's appt as she gave it to her 7 month old and she recommended it highly. Thought it would be interesting and picked one up and my son really liked it and still likes it! He's finally big enough to "groove" to music and loves pushing the big colorful button. I think we've had this for five months now, replaced the batteries once, and it's still kicking along after all the hard falls on concrete and asphalt and light washings in the sink! (He generally likes to toss stuff out of his carseat when he's being put in and out of the car and this was one of the few things to keep him in his high chair and got baby food smeared on it repeatedly!) We have a HUGE one from another baby einstein product, too. The take along plays truncated songs, while the huge one plays pretty long ones. It's just long enough to keep my son happy and not so long to drive me nutty!
Yesssssssssssssss - Jul 18, 2010
This toy will work from the day your baby is born till at least his first year. It will mesmerize him all the time, great toy to hold off the baby cry, I recommended it a lot a lot a lot.
Very Relaxing tunes - Jul 17, 2010
This was a gift for my sister. My baby loves it and friends ask me where I got it from, I send then to buy from here.
thanks a lot!
FUN - Jul 17, 2010
It keeps my lo entertained. good sound & lights + small easy for him to carry it.
Perfect for newborn, still using at one - Jul 11, 2010
We bought this for my daughter before she was born. We played it every time we changed her diaper. It is now connected to links hanging above her changing pad. She just turned one and she still enjoys it. It still looks and sounds great. We recently packed up most of her baby toys but this one made the cut. I'm rather attached to it because the songs take me back to those first weeks at home with her.
Quite wonderful - Jul 09, 2010
My baby grandson loves the four wonderful pieces of music on this toy, and he is fascinated by the flashing colored lights that go along with the sounds. He is now about 16 weeks old and has had this for about 8 weeks. I would certainly recommend this toy. Criticisms: (1) The speaker is on the back, so if the toy is put down on something, the sound is muffled, and, in any case, the sound is not as loud as it could be because it's projected backward. (2) The round button on the front is divided into four sections. At first I thought each section corresponded to a tune. That is not how it works. You have to push down quite firmly and hold for a couple of seconds on the center of the round button for the music to start. Right now my grandson is getting help enjoying this toy; he's obviously too young to hold it and push buttons, so I can't speak to how things will evolve. With help, Take Along Tunes is a wonderful way to bring music into a baby's life.
Grandaughter's favorite - Jul 06, 2010
My grandaughter Emily loves this toy so much. It accompanies her everywhere, from the apartment to the stroller. It has incredible sound quality and I enjoy the music myself. A real comfort to her in the car for extended trips. I plan on buying these for anyone with a new baby.
Very nice toy but not built for kids - Jul 03, 2010
Babies will love the tunes and lights but the toy wont last more than 10 months.
A must have for kids who love music - Jul 03, 2010
This is one of those toys that we would be getting again if it broke. It's not too much money and it really plays good portions of songs, not just the little dittys most classic song players have. The lights are wonderful and it is a toy we like to have ready for long dark car trips. (though it freaks my husband out if its too dark, the read and blue flashs always makes us think we are being pulled over! lol!) we had this with our first son when he was under one and now it still works with our seciond son who is now almost one too. Its's on its last legs after almost three years of heavy use, but thats not bad in our house.
Must Have! - Jun 29, 2010
We call this the 'baby hypnotizer' -- it is the only thing that calms our baby when he really gets crying. It is actually wierd; we just turn it on, and he stops crying and stares at the lights. The nice thing is that it is small and portable, has two volume settings, and plays 6 classical songs in a loop (rather than the same thing over and over again) so you don't get totally sick of hearing it.
Very cute - Jun 26, 2010
My little boy loves this toy and the music and lights always catch his attention. If you're baby can't hold on to it well then it does get annoying since he'll drop it all time. Otherwise once the baby can hold and press the music button, it is wonderful.
Lifesaver :) - Jun 22, 2010
The title of this toy is perfect. My baby boy LOVES music and lights, and this toy has both. The large button is easy for his little hands to press. Keep it in the diaper bag at all times!
My Review of Take Along Tunes - Jun 22, 2010
I bought this for my then 18- month old daughter b/c I thought she would like the music and also the fact that she likes baby einstein. It is more for a younger child but she still likes to play with it from time to time and push the button.
Love these sweet tunes - Jun 15, 2010
What a great toy--my one year old son got this recently (yes, a little later than most) and he loves holding it, pushing the button, and smiling while the songs play. For an electronic musical toy, this one's arrangements are actually very pleasant. Its volumes are not too loud either, which is nice. Well sized and designed for little hands. Very durable too; my son tends to throw it down when he's ready to move on to the next toy; it has survived many falls to the floor including concrete, as well as a short "swim" in a mud puddle (was afraid that the few seconds it was speaker-side down in the water would ruin it--not so, it's still going strong!)
The best - Jun 11, 2010
This is one of the best toys ever. For the longest time it kept baby happy during diaper changes and I don't know what I would of done without it. It's been dropped, taken everywhere in my diaper bag, and chewed on and is still going strong. It's the only toy that doesn't drive me crazy to listen too after hearing it a billion times too. This is a must have for any new parent.
Keeps my son's attention - Jun 09, 2010
I've bought several small toys in the hopes of keeping my 11 month old son entertained when we go out for dinner or even a stroll. Many of them end up in the corner of his playpen after he's grown tired of them 5 minutes in. This toy is different - he will play with this for a long time - it really keeps his attention. Maybe it's the music AND flashing lights, but he just loves this toy. I attach it to his stroller with a sippy cup strap so that when he drops it (or throws it), it doesn't make it to the ground.
I would give it 5 stars if it played more songs (I think it has 4-5 songs), but I would definitely recommend it either way.
Another toy I would highly recommend is the Mozart Cube - that is another invaluable toy that keeps my son's attention much longer than any other toy. And the music is nice - not annoying like so many toys can be.
Best $9 I have ever spent! - Jun 07, 2010
My three month old son LOVES this toy. It recently helped us to survive a 7 hour car trip. The music is classical, which we like, and there are no words, so no annoying songs get stuck in your head. We have renamed this toy baby crack -- our son is addicted, and this is an addiction that we whole-heartedly support. Nice work, Baby Einstein!
Happy, but product could be better.... - Jun 06, 2010
My 6.5 month daughter really enjoys this music box. However, I would have liked to see a "continuous play" button on it. The songs are too short. Other than that, it's good... :)
Baby Can't Push the Button - Jun 05, 2010
I really love the tunes and lights on this little gizmo, but I'd never recommend it because the button is almost impossible for US to press, let alone baby!
TORTICOLLIS HELP!! - Jun 03, 2010
my son suffers from torticollis and this toy has really helped him get through rehab :)
A hit with a precocious baby boy and his mom. - May 30, 2010
Who know what kind of toy a baby will like? That's why I decided to go by reviews in selecting a gift for my friend's infant, and boy did I make a good choice. This is his go-to toy, especially on car rides, and the music isn't annoying at all for adults. I'm not counting on it being educational, but he's over a year old now and still loves it, which is good enough for him, good enough for mom, and good enough for me!
Best Entertainment For Baby - May 27, 2010
We have been using the Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes since our little one was about 3 months old.
At 3 months old it was difficult for our little one to actually hold this toy by himself as it is a little bit on the heavy side. If this toy had two handles instead of one, it would make it easier for babies to hold it by themselves a lot sooner. It would also help those babies that have a preference for using their left hand, like our baby does. Our solution was to help our baby hold this toy and press it for him to get the music going. What I also noticed at this age is that our baby did not like biting into this toy because it is a hard toy. Our little one enjoyed soft, plush toys to bite at this stage. However, the music & the lights played by this toy always captivated him.
At 6 months of age, our little boy is enjoying this toy a lot more. He now has the strength required to actually hold this toy by himself. He still has not mastered entirely the fact that hitting it gets the music going. He does get the music going a few times, but it is more like an accident. I'm sure with time, he will get this. For now, there is no problem because we're around to press it for him. Pressing the button is a small tradeoff for getting through 30 minutes at the breast pump, or through dinner. My baby now likes to bite it as well. He also likes to toss things now and this has yet to break. I think if it did break, I would purchase another one.
Another thing I like about this toy is that batteries do not need to be replaced frequently. We have yet to replace the batteries on ours and we use it practically every day.
I suspect the Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes will be in our household for a long time. I believe it will continue entertaining our little one for a good while longer.
I am grateful for this toy and recommend it to others.
