Lego set - Jul 27, 2010
I bought this as a gift for my nephew. Legos are one of the best toys on the market--playing with them promotes creativity and thinking skills.
Love Legos - Jul 14, 2010
Legos are always a winner in my house- may have to find a lot of small pieces lying around but worth it in creativity and imagination play with the grandkids.
Best toy, hours of fun - Apr 12, 2010
This is the best toy I bought so far, and my 3-1/2 boy loves it! He has already knocked out the models detailed in the instructions, and started to build up his own proto-type. We loves to play with him as well. The only downside is that there is no box come with it, so we have to make a box by ourselves (some of the components are pretty tiny). But overall, it's a great product for boys, and inexpensive as well.
Great toy for 6 yo that loves Lego - Mar 18, 2010
My son loves tractors and he loves LEGO, so this toy was a hit. The thing that I like about it is that the tractors are easy enough for my 6 yo to put together by himself. Definitely a good purchase.
Fantastic beginner Lego set - Mar 16, 2010
This set is wonderful. I love the fact that the pieces are very basic, it's a perfect starter set. My son (almost 5) has had this set for nearly a year and he still loves to pull it out and build the trucks, take them apart and build them again.
Perfect for younger Lego Lovers - Jan 19, 2010
This is the perfect Lego set for younger builders. My son is almost 4 and loves his Legos, but many of the sets are very difficult and intricate. This set offers something above the basic block box without being overwhelming. It comes with lots of wheels (aren't they the best part for little boys???) and many options for building really unique and engaging vehicles. Highly recommneded!
Great Way to Introduce Legos - Nov 20, 2009
This is an excellent lego set. We got this set for my 3 year old son a year ago and he is still playing with it on a daily basis. The set is geared towards younger children and does not have as many small pieces as some of the other sets. My son and his friends have gotten a lot of play time out of these trucks and they are durable. They don't fall apart on him when he is trying to play. Also, the instructions have pictures of several other vehicles or variations that can be built with this set. My son cannot yet build these legos on his own but he is not far from it. He has watched my husband build and change the sets several times and will comment if you put something in the wrong place. He has built the steam roller on his own with some verbal instruction. The only problem we have had with this set is that the black piece that used to hold up the bulldozer shovel doesn't hold it up well anymore. The price on Amazon is terrible. This item is sold at Toys R Us, Walmart, and Target for $21.
construction set - Nov 12, 2009
I bought this for my 4 yr old son. He really enjoying playing with this set. There are lots of pieces & colorful too. When the trucks were build, he had a blast driving them around!
He has lost a lot of the small pieces & that is the only complaint I have. So, next time I will get the "bigger" ones. The duplo sets, I feel are better for my son.
Great gift! - Nov 10, 2009
I bought this for my nephew as a get-well-soon gift, and he loved it! They threw in some extra blocks so the kids have something extra to move around with the equipment. He hasn't stopped playing with it since.
Still the best - Oct 08, 2009
My kids loved Legos and now my grandchild loves Legos! He is three years old and has fun constructing fabulous things with his dad who played nonstop with Legos as a child. Makes kids think and create.
lego construction - Oct 02, 2009
it looks like an amazing toy. although i havent opened it yet. -- im keeping it as an xmas gift.. im sure he'll love it!!
Great set for the price - Jan 28, 2009
One reviewer claimed this was expensive for what you get - I felt like it was a lot for the price, given how pricey lego sets are. You can make quite a few things with this. (editing 1/10/10 - this set is now selling for more than TWICE what I paid for it - I don't know if the seller is crazy or Lego has d/c'ed it and it's now rare)
My son just turned 5 and this is, I think, just the right level of challenging for him. This is his first Lego set and he loves it. I love finally having something to do with him that I think is really fun, too.
Not a toy to be outgrown quickly since you can always add more and more Legos and these are fairly basic, not super specific techy looking pieces.
I see this becoming our standard ~5yo birthday gift. Good price and good fun!
eta - we paid twenty bucks for this in a toy store - the Amazon price just jumped up.
A cool addition to your lego collection - Jan 22, 2009
We purchased this set for my 5 year old Son and my 7 year old Daughter and they both love it. It has a cool dump truck, roller and a front loader and the little men that ride inside the vehicles. The set includes 300 pieces and is a good deal if you purchase from Amazon directly when it's available. Just look on the right side and it will list that this item is also sold directly from Amazon. Some of the other sellers on Amazon are charging over double the retail price of this set.
Fun toy - way too expensive for what you get - Jan 09, 2009
My son loves legos - but the price of this box far exceeds the amount of blocks that are in it.
Wonderful product! - Dec 29, 2008
This is a great kit. You can make all three trucks at the same time with Legos left over. The trucks are durable enough to drive around. My son is five and could do quite a bit of the building.
Five-year-old loved it! - Dec 03, 2008
This is a great set for kids who don't have any other LEGO toys, because there is a "blueprint" for what to do with the pieces (make construction vehicles), but they can also be used to build other things. Of course, it also complements other LEGO toys. Great transition toy for kids who liked "Bob the Builder" in an earlier stage (or still do!)
Lego's please - Nov 30, 2008
My grandson asked me for some Lego's for his 6th birthday. However, he wanted some with instructions. I searched for some I felt would be age appropriate. When I found these, I immediately ordered them. When I called him on his birthday to see if he liked them, he was too busy building the dump truck to talk to me.
You can't go wrong with lego - Nov 16, 2008
Lego stuff is always great for kids to play with. I bought this for a friend's son and he just loves it. He's 5, and he really seems to enjoy building the things that are pictured on the box. He also likes trying to put together his own creations, and that's what I love the most about lego. A kid can learn how to follow instructions and how to be creative all with the same toy.
Lego - Nov 05, 2008
This toy was for my nephew who has autism. Lego was one of the toys that autism kids are interested in. I bought this toy for him and he loves it
great toy - Nov 02, 2008
I bought this for my 4 year old boy and he loves it. I'm impressed about how long he'll sit and put these together. Shortly after getting this for him, we bought him 2 other small boxes of legos. Although legos are expensive, they're so much fun and really are great educational toys -- promote creativity and fine motor skills!
Great set - only $20 at Lego shop at home - Aug 29, 2008
This is a great first big-boy (and big-girl) lego set. Our three year old loves it. I put the chassis and wheels together, and he can "decorate" the vehicles with the extra brick. I think he will play with this set for years.
But shame on the seller for charging $40. This set is available direct from Lego at http://shop.lego.com/ for only 19.99

parts are too small! - Aug 26, 2008
From the product description it was not clear how small the parts are. They are infact very small. I bought it for my son who is nearly 3, but still apprehensive to give it to him. So it is in storage until he is old enough to play with it.
another win for Lego toys! - Aug 12, 2008
Not sure what more I can say about Legos. They've been around forever, are durable, colorful, and spark hours of creative, imaginative play. We started my son on Primos or Quattros or what ever they're called (the largest size legos) when he was just 1 yr old, then moved to Duplos, now he is starting to get into the smallest Lego sized blocks.
My son got this set for his 4th birthday. The box says it contains 300 pieces, and I'm going to trust them on that. We certainly had enough pieces to make all 3 vehicles on the box cover, plus a couple of road barriers, and still had enough left over pieces to fill up the dump truck and push around with the front loader.
I guess if there are any "cons" to this product, it would be that there is no storage container included in the box. The pieces are divided into several small plastic bags and once you open them, there is no way to put them back. But, if you get the "ultimate Lego building set" (which comes with 200 or so pieces in a big "tupperware" container)you can always dump these pieces in with the other set. I guess if you want to keep your lego sets separate though, you'll have to figure out an alternate storage solution.
As for the pieces included, this set comes with the regular square and rectangular sized leggos, plus multiple steering wheels, windshields, at least 14 tires, 1 construction worker, and various other sizes, also comes with a little booklet of ideas on building different kinds of construction vehicles. It does have some of the smallest size lego pieces... so watch out around really young children.
Great fun for the vehicle fanatic - Jun 24, 2008
We bought this box for our son's fourth birthday. It was by far his favorite present. We haven't bothered trying to make any of the pre-designed models, although they look very cool. Instead, my son has enjoyed putting together miniature replicas of the cars he likes best. Of course, his designs are crude -- one long LEGO plank on elevated wheels he declared to be a monster truck -- but that's the beauty of this set. It is simple enough for a 4-year old to jump right in and make something from scratch, yet will grow in complexity as he matures.
Right now, there are plenty of pieces he doesn't incorporate. But others are obvious enough that he uses them appropriately (and sometimes with creative inappropriateness) on his vehicles. Grills, headlights, and spare tires are great examples.
We also have a 2-year old daughter for whom the tiny LEGO pieces serve as excellent bits of "food" for her kitchen set. You can imagine the fights that break out between the two of them...
Very highly recommended. My son hasn't made the same vehicle twice.
Great toy for girl and boy! - May 30, 2008
I got this set for my son who was just over 4.5. We go to Legoland in Orlando and he loves building cars so I've been looking for a set that has wheels. This is by far a favorite toy. My daughter is almost 3.5 and she loves it as well. They have trouble taking apart the thin ones but otherwise can put them together and take them apart. He built the construction vehicles only the first few times but now builds cars, trucks, planes, and UFOs!
