     Baby's first toy! - Sep 02, 2010

We actually have lots of other toys at home, but when we introduced this toy to our 3 month old, it was love at first sight!! This is the first toy that she actually reached for, grabbed onto, and played with! (as much as a 3 month old can play with a toy at any rate!) She loves to grab onto the crinkly wings and pull them into her mouth. I've also found her grabbing onto the white plastic ring, and the green string that the red teether is on. If I help my daughter get the red teether in her hands, she likes to chew on that as well. Oftentimes I'll find her fallen asleep with Freddie in her grip. :)

Stimulating toy for baby! - Aug 30, 2010

My baby is 4 months old and has loved this toy since she was about 3 months old. She'd just stare and stare at it! Now that she can grab and grasp things, this toy is even more of a delight. My baby and I highly recommend. I had to purchase "Marina the Mermaid" as well as Freddy!

     Baby loves it! - Aug 23, 2010

My baby absolutely LOVES Freddie the Firefly. She likes it during tummy time (and she never used to like tummy time at all) and she loves it attached to her baby gym. What I love is that there is a wide variety of extra brightly colored bits and pieces that catch Baby's eye but are not well pictured in the photograph on the website. Not only are there bits of mirror but the wings crinkle and make noise, a bell tinkles inside the firefly, a little ladybug is embroidered on one wing and repeated in plastic on a little loop on the other side. Plus it has a snap ring on the head and another two on the end of the tail, meaning I can snap Freddie in two places on Baby's gym so it "flies" over her. Would definitely purchase again!

This is my baby's favorite toy.... - Aug 22, 2010

I bought this toy for my daughter right after she turned 3 months old. She adores this toy, and "coos" whenever she plays with it. She hasn't figured out how to make it squeak yet, but she likes the crinkly wings and she rubs her hands over the different textures.

The clip is very handy. I attach this to her Tiny Love play mat, to her stroller, etc.

Very Interactive! Too Bad It Can't Be Machine Washed... - Aug 11, 2010

This is a visually beautiful and highly interactive rattle style toy. My daughter did not really take to it until she was 3 months old, though -- don't think newborns are going to get much out of this. She loves it now, however. The only con (my opinion) is that this is a cloth toy that cannot be submerged in water. It can only be surface wiped which I don't like for sanitary reasons... She is in teething mode and constantly putting it in her mouth. That said, it is a very nice interactive toy with lots to look at, touch, shake, squeeze and pull. The wings even make a crinkling/crackling noise somewhat similar to a potato chip bag. Interesting little toy.

     such a fun colorful toy - Aug 09, 2010

i never really liked 'toys' before. most of my children would have a short phase and get tired of it eventually. but this toy is fab. makes alot of noises, rattling noises, squeaky noises and crinkly noises. babies love the colors, patterns and different textures of freddie the firefly. he's much better than Jacques the peacock because he's easier to grab and they practically the same except freddie has the 2 teething rings at the end of his tail. overall a great buy for a toy. a little expensive but i guess it's worth it if it keeps the baby quiet for a good few minutes.

     lamaze firefly - Aug 02, 2010

This is such a cute toy to attach to my son's stroller, He loves to play and chew on it. I also love that it sweaks.

Favorite Baby Toy Yet - Aug 02, 2010

My 4-month old baby was recently given this toy, and she LOVES it. It has so many different textures, patterns, and visual stimuli to explore. It is big enough for her to hold onto in her car seat (if she lets go it's too big to roll out of her reach). It has so many surfaces that she's able to grab onto it anywhere. I've found that a lot of baby toys have to be gripped in a certain spot for a baby to hold onto it, and my lil' one doesn't have the ability to pick up a toy in a specific spot yet. Also, she's at that age where she loves to put things in her mouth, and the teething rings and wings on this toy definitely fit the bill. I won't be leaving the house without this toy for the foreseeable future.

Great toy for babies - Jul 31, 2010

My niece is 3 months old and loves this toy. It isn't too bulky, so it won't be too hard for a baby to maneuver around. The wings are large and easy to grab. She loves to just lay and crinkle them when she's in her bouncer or car seat.

     Terrific Toy! - Jul 31, 2010

We got both the Firefly and the Peacock Lamaze toys and my baby loves them both equally. They are colorful, fun, have many textures and make different noises when handled. I had read good reviews on these toys and the reviews were right! My baby is nearly six months old now and began playing with these about a month ago. She really loves to chew on them and make the crinkle and crunch in her hands. These are some of her favorite toys overall. I think that although the Lamaze toys are a bit more expensive than others, that they are well worth the price.

     A Perfect Baby Gift - Lasting Fun - Jul 28, 2010

My daughter had this as an infant and into her first year. She loved it because of the bright colors, crinkly noises and happy face (at least that is my perception - she wasn't talking much at 8 months :-)

I have since purchased two more for teachers going on maternity leave. It makes a great gift.
Lamaze has a good reputation and the product is well made - no recall worries.

Works well for newborns and into the first toddler stages.

     Child's favorite toy at 4 months - Jul 27, 2010

Son wasn't interested in Freddie until he was able to use his hands. Now, at 4 months, it's his favorite toy.

     wonderuful toy - Jul 24, 2010

Great toy! My baby loves the high contrast black and white. Plus it is great hanging it from her gym and she can grab the click clack rings to pull on and play with too. Colors are great and she loves the crinkly wings as well as the different textures. I can see her enjoying this toy for months to come.

Great toy for infants!!! - Jul 19, 2010

My daughter loves this toy! I put it on her bouncy seat toy bar when she was 3 months, with the black and white side facing her for the contrast. Once she started using her hands, she found the rings and loved pulling on them and wearing them as bracelets! Then when she started teething, the ladybug became her favorite. Now she enjoys the colorful side, and I think this will be a toy that is preferred for months to come!!!

Good product but my baby wasn't intrested - Jul 18, 2010

I bought 4 Lamaze toys based on their 5 stars reviews, Buzz the Bug, Freddie the Firefly, Mortimer the Moose, and Jacques the Peacock. They are all beautiful and good quality and all have teething rings, squeakers, crinkles, and rattles. BUT to be honest Jacques the Peacock beats them all so easily, my baby only cares about jack. When she was born I show her the High contrast Black and White dots on jack's wings, and she was so mesmerized for several minutes.. While I agree that all Lamaze baby products are good and worth buying, but I think 1 or 2 is enough.

     A colorful, multi-dimensional hit! - Jul 09, 2010

My baby grandson is at the stage where he is just able to grab and pull toys toward himself. He has a very strong preference for Freddie the Firefly, who has so many positive attributes: lots of colors and shapes all in one, a cute face, very crinkly wings that are easy to squeeze (an unusual sound), a squeaker, a mirror under the purple flap (with peek holes), a rattle, hanging rings, and a chewy red plastic thing. The toy is about 10" long, I'd say--a good size, rather than being too small. He has no trouble moving Freddie the Firefly around and is delighted by it.

     Must-have toy for babies! - Jun 22, 2010

I purchased this when i was still pregnant with my baby girl who is now 4 months old. I gave it to her pretty early, at around 2months of age, and I must say she took on the toy immediately. She constantly gazes at it and we noticed that she is very focused when staring at Freddie at that age. Now at 4 months, it's her favorite toy and keeps on "talking" to Freddie whenever she sees her, sometimes even when she's sleepy (my husband and I jokes that she's saying goodnight to him:)
our friend also has a baby girl who visits our house almost everyday and there's a "baby talk" marathon when we lay them side by side with Freddie hanging nearby... it's just a blast to watch them so! for the price I paid for Freddie, I'd say it's so reasonable compared to the playtime we enjoy just by watching her interact with Freddie this way. :)

     love freddie! - Jun 21, 2010

we love freddie and so does my daughter. she's had it since she was about 4 months old and is now 18 months. we keep it around just because, and she still plays with him every once in a while. it went everywhere with her when she was still an infant and she loved to stare at him.

     Freddie the Firefly - Jun 04, 2010

Freddie the Firefly is one of the most entertaining toys my son owns (we also have Lamaze Mortimer the Moose which my son loves as well). My son will play with this toy for a half hour, crinkling the wings and chewing on pretty much every part of Freddie. This is a great stroller/car seat toy, there are so many features to engage baby (crinkly wings, peekaboo mirror, strawberry teether, etc). The colors on the front of the fly are quite vivid and the back of the fly is a black and white pattern. The toy is easy to clean, just hand wash and air dry. The only thing I don't like about Freddie is the squeaker, it can be annoying loud. Overall, I highly recommend buying Freddie the Firefly or any other Lamaze products, they make great first toys for your baby!

Grows with your baby - Jun 03, 2010

I received this from my registry and hung it over the baby's changing table from day one.

He never paid it much attention, or so I thought, at first.

Until he was 4mos we left it hanging there until one day I saw him looking at it very purposefully. I'd previously wiggled it from time to time for him, but his eyes would wander after a minute or two.

The day he 'looked' at it, I took it down and his eyes got so wide like he couldn't believe it was possible for this thing to come nearer.

He shoved the face in his mouth.

Now it's part of his regular rotation of slobber objects. He loves the face for mawing on and likes the thin wings for gumming. He's also totally into grabbing the red bug and the rings.

I'm sure any one of the Lamaze toys could be just as loved, but this is the one we happen to have.

     My daughter's favorite toy - Jun 03, 2010

My daughter is three months old. She has more toys than she needs thanks to older siblings, hand-me-downs, and grandparents excited for a girl. This, however, is her absolute favorite. It could be her only toy and she'd still be happy. I like that it has the thin rings hanging low so she can grab on easily. It makes lots of crinkly noise, and captivates her for over an hour. I love lamaze as a brand, and highly recommend this toy!

Fun, colorful wonderful toy - May 24, 2010

I bought this for my granddaughter and she loved it. It is large, light, colorful and has different sounds and textures. Her whole face lit up when I gave it to her. Her older sister seemed to like it, too. An excellent toy for a good price. Fast shipping, too. I highly recommend this toy!!

Very engaging, multifunctional toy - May 23, 2010

My son has had this toy since he was only a few weeks old and it has been his favorite since then!! There are so many things for him to do with Freddie!! The wings crinkle, which keeps him busy most of the time. There is also a squeak ball on one of the wings and a little red teether bug attached to another wing. He also loves the mirrors and the pull rings on the bottom. The fact that it has a loop/ring attached is awesome because I can hook it on to the car seat or his stroller or whatever and we're off and he's got Freddie with him! The bright colors are great and the back of the wings have black and white patterns which is a huge plus! Babies love the black and white! This toy has been my son's favorite for six months now and I'm sure it will continue to be his favorite for a long time!

Freddie goes wherever my son goes - May 20, 2010

I got Freddie when my son was about 2 month old. Back then the back of Freddie's wings with B+W pattern was the most entertaining part to him. Now he is 6 month old and he likes chewing on its various parts, sucking on its wings, also plays with its antenna & legs working on his dexterity. Freddie is the one toy to take with us on outings or trips. He will spend hours looking at it and playing with it.

If anyone is wondering, I washed and dried this in hot temperature despite the label saying 'spot clean only'. It came out without any damage from washing machine but the mirror got warped from dryer. My son doesn't really look at the mirror so it's okay. I'm rather happy to have it clean and lose the mirror since my son constantly sucks on it.

     Crinkly wings are a hit! - May 14, 2010

I think my daughter's favorite aspect of this toy is his loud, crinkly wings. She loves to bang on it. A second attraction are the three rings. Now that she is teething the white attachment ring is new favorite thing to chew on. She shows no interest in the small mirror or red teething apple, except to pull at it. The length of this toy makes it great for attaching high so she can reach for it and grab at it, which may have contributed to her great hand-eye coordination.

The firefly also seems more entertaining to her than the Lamaze Moose, which she also likes. I highly recommend this toy.
