     The Kid's reveiw - Aug 20, 2010

    Okay, lemme get this straight.
Some people are like "OMG (insert a name of another nerf gun here) IS SOOO MUCH BETTER"

    Wrong.

This is so far the BEST Nerf gun out there. It shoots about 30 feet, AND IT HAS SIGHTS, making it SUPER accurate. This is a great Nerf gun. The only thing that could top this is the shotgun version of it, that is about the same thing but looks awesome and has the cocking device at the front, not the back.

Plus, this hurts too, so awesome Nerf wars with my friends.

     Great fun - Aug 20, 2010

Got this for my son (read as myself) and it's great fun. Really satisfying shape/size and great fun to shoot. It's a Nerf gun, it's not going to win any awards for accuracy or range, but for shooting foam suction darts around the house or in the yard it's great.

MY NAME IS SEAN AND THIS IS MY REVIEW - Jul 16, 2010

This "gun" is probably the best of all the Nerf "guns."

    PROS
    EASY TO LOAD
    RELOADING IS QUICK
*KINDA HURTS IF YOU GET SHOT IN THE FACE FROM AN INCH AWAY
DOESN'T BREAK UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY TRY TO
FROM WHAT I HEAR IT IS "RELIABLE" IN NERF GUN WARS... whatever that means...

    CONS
*KINDA HURTS WHEN YOU GET SHOT IN THE FACE FROM AN INCH AWAY.

If you want to take this "gun fighting" thing to the next level I suggest you buy an air soft gun instead. But I wouldn't recommend getting one unless your:
    12 years of age
Out of the cry baby stage because air soft guns hurt
have friends that are intrested in perhaps joining an air soft team so you can fight each other
If your parents would actually let you
Wear a safety mask whenever you intend to shoot an air soft gun. (remember they are dangerous.)
If you don't wear a mask then you have pretty HIGH chances of getting one or both of your eyes taken out. (two eyes if it is an automatic airsoft gun your dealing with ;)

BE SAFE AND DON'T TAKE THIS NERF GUN THING TOO SERIOUSLY.
THE LAST THING YOU NEED IS TO BE A NERD HAVE NO FRIENDS AND YOUR ALONE.

     A Must-Have for any Dorm Room - Jul 06, 2010

I realize that most of the reviews for this product are aimed for a different age demographic (and rightfully so), but I have to say, the Maverick was one of the main things that got me through my Freshman year of college. If you know are about to send off a college-aged kid or are putting together a care package to mail them, I am a firm believer that every dorm room or apartment needs at least one functioning Nerf gun.

The Maverick is small enough to fit on a bookshelf, and the suction darts are perfectly designed to stick to an textbook from across the room, or the back or an unsuspecting roommate's laptop. Although I hugely recommend this toy as fun and easy to use for its appropriate age group, I can't hope to express the hours of stress-relieving fun I've had after bringing mine to school. Truly, it is amazing how much happiness this $15 dollar toy can bring a group of homesick freshmen.

     n-strike - Apr 07, 2010

The Maverick REV-6 could be the most famous nerf blaster of all nerf guns. This gun is a lock and load blaster. This and all nerf guns are cool.

The Nerf Of Me - Apr 04, 2010

I bought this "gun" on the recommendation of one of my high school tutoring students. He likes the Nerf Maverick and says that some of his teachers own them for shootouts in school. My purchase was made to dissuade those rascally squirrls who insist on eating from our backyard tray feeder.

Pulling back the spring loaded slide requires more than a little effort, making it quite a challenge for any five or six-year-old. The six included darts load into the rotating chamber, but only one shot can be taken per pullback.

Our birdfeeder is 26 feet from the deck, a distance I assumed would be within the range of this benign weapon. The darts reach the squirrels in the feeder (weakly) if I aim above their heads and adjust for wind conditions, temperature, and phases of the moon. I've only hit one squirrel and that was on the bounce as he was bounding away from the feeder.

I can only imagine that this toy would be lots of fun for a kid or a grown up kid as long as he or she has the strength to pull back the spring loader. I may be buying some of the whistling darts because I've read that in addition to making a cool, intimidating noise, they travel further

Is It Really Safe? - Mar 31, 2010

I purchased this toy for my sons' enjoyment. I instructed them to be careful but I was confident in the safety of the toy. No where in the gun literature did it say that the gun would still fire even within close range. My youngest son suffered a contusion on the cheek and my older son had a red mark on his forehead for more than 2 hours. Beware - the gun DOES FIRE no matter where you aim it.

     Durable - Mar 15, 2010

When I was looking for a nerf gun, I wanted one I could modify. This is a great gun to get into the experience of modding nerf guns.

It's a nerf gun, so how educational can it be? That being said, it's still educational in that you can experiment with making your own darts of varying lengths, you can test different springs (if you find some that fit), you can modify the barrel to slide out further, make barrel 'clips' (if you have a spare gun), etc... so there are things to be learned, if you wish. There are also a great deal of youtube videos that demonstrate the different mods, which makes it considerably easier (and somewhat safer).

As a toy, it's great. It's durable, simple, and it shoots things. What more can you ask for?

     Fun! - Mar 03, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3G4UJ86RE89M7 I love toys, and nerf guns, this one's the best and it gives me good times at work!

The best Nerf shooter we ever used - Feb 22, 2010

If you have 2 or more boys in the house, this one of the most fun of all game activities they can do indoor. I remember when we were kids, we were shooting with imaginary bullets or rubber bands. How things have changed. Now with foam bullets, you feel safe they are not breaking any TV's, windows or mirrors inside the house. Great alternative than kids playing video games or turning them into couch potatoes in front of the tube.

The Nerf N-Strike Maverick has a rotating barrel with 6-bullet capacity and comes with 6 suction bullets.

    1) It does not jam as often as other Nerf shooters.
    2) It also accepts different types of ammunition - suction darts, strimline, whistlers, etc.

Both of which are the source of frustration with our N-Strike Recon CS-6.

The maverick is much easier to handle and maneuver than the longer guns. It is also easier to reload for smaller kids. I always need to help my 5-yr old to cock the gun for the CS-6, not with the Maverick. With this gun, they can play all by themselves without pestering you to cock the gun with every shot.

When not hiding behinds couches, and chasing each other around the house, they are busy targeting stacks of plastic cups placed on the window sills as targets. This is what kids' fun is all about, lots and lots of it. I have to stop my boys turning my couches into trampolines whenever they do a victory dance.

     good nerf gun - Feb 17, 2010

I got this nerf gun in january. I had alot of money (i won 20 bucks in the lottery) so I got 2 of these. It never jams and after modding it shoots abou 35 to 45 feet. I would recommend this as a secondary weapon in a nerf war. This weapon is really easy to mod. theonly tools you need is a hammer, a screwdriver, and some wirecutters. then look up "how to mod a maverick" on youtube. wait, I'm getting off track here. the point is that the nerf maverick REV-6 is a really good gun.

     nerf for adults - Feb 16, 2010

This gun was mainly purchased to have a little fun with my fellow nerdfighters great toy, but was lazy and saw it for half the price at target ) :

     ammmmaazinng!!!! - Feb 11, 2010

I think this is the best Nerf EVER!!!!
Even though the range isnt too good compared with some other guns , the reloading is quicker and thats the end of arguments about who hit who, because micro darts go careening off course at even the slightest touch. its really light too. The only con is that it takes a little time to pop open the barrel. Another is that sometimes the darts do not fire, but only if you do not put the darts in properly and if you can't do that, you don't deserve to be a Nerfer.
    Three BEST pros:
Price( the firefly is a little better than this gun but not for it's price)
Lightweight( guns like the longshot may be good, but they are heavy)
Easy( Education??? What do you mean, education??? This gun doesnt need to be built, making it even better! If you mess up while building a gun, you can seriously damage it)

For HvZ, a Terrible Choice of Gun - Feb 02, 2010

While a very entry level gun for Human's VS Zombie's it has many problems with it.

This gun jams quite a bit. And when your trying to fight off a horde of "zombies" isn't a very good thing. Another problem is the Maverick is that its awkward when you have to reload it.

While the gun is very easy to mod, and modding it does increase its usefulness, you would be better off spending the extra 10 or 20 bucks for a better gun.

I'll be selling my gun for the next round of HvZ, and trading it in for two Tek 6's.

Nice toy, son loves it - Jan 09, 2010

One of the better nerf guns due to its simplicity. Feeds well and shoots. What more can you ask for?

     Very fun! - Jan 07, 2010

I bought 2 of these for my boys and they love them. It's nice not having to reload each time you shoot. The only down side is that if you do not line up the dart in the center of the barrel when you reload it, the dart will not fire properly. If you do it right then it fires correctly each time. We have had a blast with these.

Perfect for Nerf gunslingers. - Jan 06, 2010

Lots of fun for kids of all ages. You cock the slide once and pull the trigger to fire; 1 pump per shot fired, with an ammo capacity of 6 Nerf rounds. Solid construction, but it's still plastic with all the limitations thereof. It's a lot of fun to shoot, and with a little practice you can fire it very quickly and surprisingly accurately. Awesome intro to modern Nerf weaponry!

     Fun - Jan 02, 2010

This is a fun gun. I like to shoot it on the wall. I play with it and I AM A GIRL. I love this toy. My friend likes this toy. We are 7 and we are girls.

We have 2 and they both are awesome! - Jan 02, 2010

I have 2 VERY rambunctious boys, both of whom have a TON of nerf guns. This one by far is their favorite. It is VERY durable, easy to load/use. And since my husband took the air limiters out of them they shoot REALLY REALLY far.

     Gun that doesn't work - Jan 01, 2010

This is a terrible nerf gun. I bought this despite the fact that my sister's kids had 2 of them and the were always broken. I thought maybe it was a fluke. NO. I bought this for Christmas and the barrel gets jammed and does not fire bullets. It won't hardly fire one without a bunch of messing with it, let alone 6 in a row! I have also bought the single shot guns with the pull back trigger (also nerf - and use the same bullets). They work like a charm and my 3 year old can use it with no problem! Do NOT get this gun, it is a complete waste of money.

     Its a Blast - Dec 30, 2009

I bought these for my great nephews for Christmas and they were a big hit, with the adults as well as the children. Lots of fun. I would definitely recommend this toy. And I did order extra darts, which was suggested by several other reviewers when I was shopping for this product.

     very fun toy - Dec 29, 2009

I bought this toy as a joke gift for my 23-year-old boyfriend and since he opened it, not one day has gone by that he hasn't played with it. I can only imagine how much fun a kid would have with it. Definitely a good toy for the price.

Nerf and Strike Maverick - Dec 27, 2009

My grandson got this for Christmas and it does not seem to work very well. You load the darts and they only shoot out some of the time which can be frustrating.

     sticky!!!!!!!!!!!! - Dec 21, 2009

I got this gun for my birthday party and a whole bunch of darts. in my opion it is awesome and it has not jamed for me yet,but its cocking handle sticks a bit but all you have to do is push it a bit. my bro and older sis have theers have not jamed yet so I am pretty sure that its just a manufacurte problem.

Best Nerf pistol to date - Dec 15, 2009

Nothing can touch this Nerf pistol. The Maverick is the best selling and quite possibly the best overall nerf gun ever made. It has one of the best size to firepower ratio ( six shots/ 9 inches)and is one of the cheapest guns you can buy (currently 9usd at Walmart). after removing the air restrictors my mav can shoot standard suction darts upwards of 30ft. It is the perfect weapon for HvZ, a gift, or to plug coworkers with.
