Fun toy - Jul 29, 2010
I got this for my daughter to travel to China with when she was nine month old. She loved it from the get-go. She began by taking everything out and banging the pieces around. Then she figured out how to whistle by blowing air into the bottom of the chick piece through the shapes while pressing the chick down with her hand. Believe me, I have no idea how she figured that one out. This is definitely a toy she goes to all the time. The only thing is cleaning up requires some brain power on the parents' side. :)
Fun toy - Jul 28, 2010
Although the egg carton is somewhat difficult to open, even for me, this toy has a lot of educational value. I like that each of the eggs have a shape sorter bottom to them and a removal top with cute faces on them! They are fun to mix and match and my 1 year old daughter can sit for more than 30 minutes playing with these and literally "scrambling" these eggs around! These really help with manual dexterity, matching and creative play so it's a good, fun, durable toy.
Surprisingly a big hit with my 20 month old! - Jul 22, 2010
My son LOVES this... I don't know what is so fascinating about it but he seems amused.. My son is obsessed with taking things in and out of boxes so maybe that's why
Fun and educational - Jul 21, 2010
We purchased this for our 18 month old daughter and she loves it! She loves taking the eggs apart and making the chicks squeak and then putting them back together. She isn't old enough yet to match the shape into the bottom of the carton or to match the eyes on the eggshell to the chick, but that is why this toy is great...it grows with her!!! The toy is built really well and I don't have to worry about pieces being broken off. I would definitely purchase this for other kids and/or a daycare center.
Keeps 'em coming back for more - Jul 17, 2010
My son starting playing with them when he was 6 months old - they were fun to "break" apart. He's now 1 and still enjoys breaking them apart but it starting to see where all the matching comes in, too. Plus he sorts egg/shells and enjoys that. Many more concepts to learn. Plus they are cute.
Keeps him entertained! - Jul 11, 2010
My now-14 month old received this at 11 months in his Easter basket. It is one of a handful of toys that he doesn't appear to get sick of and continues to go to. He loves making them squeek, bang them together, put the top back on, etc. Because there are different shapes on the bottom for each egg to fit into a different spot in the egg container, he should only continue to learn from these in the future.
Love These! - Jul 11, 2010
These are the greatest little eggs! They're educational as the bottoms are shaped and each egg will only fit into its matched place in the egg carton. Fitting the egg shell top (each with a different happy face) on each egg also develops coordination. Opening and closing the egg carton seems to be very intriguing to tots as well, and pushing down on the baby chicks makes fun squeaking noises. All pieces are quite durable. I love these!
great little toy for an infant on up - Jul 08, 2010
It seems silly to review a baby toy, but I have to say that this is one of the few baby toys that we have kept when others have been given away. All babies and toddlers love these eggs - they are so fun to hold and they even squeak., Its even a matching game for as old as 4 (the bottoms have shapes to match). We love this toy at our house.
eggs - Jul 08, 2010
my son loves it but still a little too young (8mo) to get him to put them into the right slots. but overall a really good toy. very very durable!
Colorful and Interesting Toy - Jul 07, 2010
I bought this toy for my 1 year old but her 3 year old sister found it first and they both like it.
The eggs have faces painted on the shell that match the inside "squeaker".
The bottom of each egg is a different shape that fits in each egg space.
The toy won't keep them busy for hours but it is a fun toy that they always reach for when they begin to play.
Great toy - Jun 30, 2010
My daughter is 17 months and really enjoys this toy. The yellow container it comes in is very difficult for her to open but she loves opening and closing the eggs and trying to find where they go in the container. Defiantly a good toy.
The kids love it - Jun 22, 2010
I don't know what it is about this toy, but the kids can't get enough of it! Cons, it is hard to open the case and the eggs and shells end up EVERYWHERE in our house. But, the kids flock to it, so it's a winner at our house.
Love it!! - Jun 18, 2010
My daughter, 8 months, loves this toy. Right now she just loves playing with all the shells and eggs but later I think it'll be great for her to teach her matching and different colors.
Great for all ages - Jun 13, 2010
My 13 month old son absolutely loves this toy. He takes the eggshells off and squeaks the eggs, and then takes the eggs out and puts them back in. He's too young to put them back in the correct place, but they fit well enough. My brother (22) and husband (26) have both played with the eggs, too, under the guise of entertaining the baby. It truly is a toy for kids of all ages.
Simple, but fun! - Jun 02, 2010
Our son is 18 months old and loves these eggs! They were a Christmas gift just after his first birthday and he has always enjoyed them.
He has recently learned how to open the latch on the 'carton' by himself (yes, it's a bit difficult, but not impossible!) and likes to put the tops on the eggs and take them off.
Others have said the squeak isn't terribly loud/noticeable, but I think that's a good thing! It's not an obnoxious sound, but is still fun for the squeak-er.
Entertaining toy - May 29, 2010
I purchased this for my two year old twin grandsons. They like taking the eggs apart and putting them back together. It is convenient that they fit nicely in thier own case. The case requires help to open as the latch is quite stiff. They do not match the faces yet...maybe in a few months. All in all it is a good toy for this age.
one quam with it - May 21, 2010
The only issue i have with this toy is that the tops of the eggs don't stay on. They are simply placed on. So, if the egg tips over, the eggtop falls. We lose these pieces often. I miss the plastic eggs when i was a kid, that took effort to open. On a more positive note, my 2 year old loves shapes, so the shapes on the bottom of the egg are educational for us. Wish the eggs had different colors, instead 2 are blue, 2 are purple and 2 are orange. educational value could improve if they were all different colors. The eggs peep when pushed down, they are cute overall, but not quite the response i thought i'd get from my 2 year old. I am hoping his baby sister will like these more, just might be my little guy..who is more into cars. (the chicks don't come out of the egg, either..fyi)
Great travel toy - latch hard to open - May 15, 2010
I bought this for my one year old for Easter and he loves it, as does my 4 year old. I like that it's contained in one box and once it's put away I don't have to worry about losing any pieces. The issue is opening the box - both of my kids have a hard time with that...also, it would have been nice if all 6 of the eggs were different colors rather than two of the same. Other than that, it's a good toy.
Somethings wrong with the free shipping option - May 12, 2010
I would love to order this toy, but it makes me upset when I am ordering over $150 of items and I can't get free shipping because this item is in my cart. If it says free shipping and Amazon is fulfilling the order, why is it not recognizing that I am purchasing all those other items, all free shipping, all fulfilled my Amazon. What am I not understanding here?
Good but impossible for child to open - May 08, 2010
This is a fun toy, but another toy with pieces to round up at the end of the day. The kids seem to like playing with them. Just be aware that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a child to open the box independently. The clasp is hard for me to open. My 3-year-old got her finger pinched in the mechanism trying to close it and there was a big welt. Overall good, compact, interesting toy... as long as mommy opens it first.
BEST TOY EVER! - May 03, 2010
I bought these for my daughter for Easter (well the Easter Bunny) brought them lol She was 6 months at the time. This is by far her favorite toy! She loves to take apart the eggs and shake them. This is one of those toys that will grow with your child! Awesome for hand eye coordination- (revised this) not even half a month later my daughter can put the eggs together and take them apart! It is also good for matching shapes, and colors. I am not sure why some others complained it is not educational. The faces on the chicks match the shells on the outside- it's a GREAT matching game. Also the bottom of each egg has a different shape.
Hide 'n Squeak Eggs - Apr 26, 2010
I bought this for my one-year-old grandson for Easter. He loved the eggs that squeaked. This is something he will be able to enjoy for a while because the bottoms of the eggs are shapes and the egg carton is a shape sorter.
An ok toy - Apr 16, 2010
My son is 21 months old and has a major fascination with eggs in the fridge. Loves the word egg and loves carrying around a boiled egg when I make him one, so I thought he would love this product. He played with it for the first hour and has played with it a few times since we got it but I always have to remind him about it. And he doesn't get the chirping of the birds or matching the faces or shapes. He might just be too young, I think it may be better for an older kid.
Hide 'n Squeak - Apr 14, 2010
A tried and true product that provides hours of enjoyment for my one-year-old grandson and his three-year-old brother. The simplicity of the eggs and squeak appeal to the little one, while the older boy enjoys matching the shapes and faces. The only downside is the difficulty of opening the crate once it is closed. Neither boy could open it without help.
Hide'N Sqeak Eggs - Apr 06, 2010
I bought this for my grandson's easter basket, through Amazon. Arrived in perfect condition. It was a big hit for a two year old.
